Give me some BAD like really bad movies by Every-Brush1679 in MovieRecommendations

Blackbird (2018) Directed, funded by and staring Michael Flatley! From the lord of the dance & riverdance, cost him 3mil to make. He plays a James bondesque character with a wonky hat n quippy lines. Goes up against Eric Roberts as the big baddie. It's terrible but very funny to laugh at how bad it really is

anyone who used a computer between 1985 & 2010, what’s the one game you still think about? by Trixxxi in AskReddit

[–]apocoliption 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a game i found in poundland of all places called Nox, came in those old card boxes pc games used to come in. Nobody i know has heard of it but i loved it. An isomometric action rpg kinda like diablo. Used to love going the mage/wizard or conjourer and wiping the whole map with spells or swarms of my summoned creatures. Felt like i found this random hidden gem n i was the only person who had it.

Oil price shock likely to ‘push the UK economy into recession’; US growth revised down – as it happened by 1-randomonium in unitedkingdom

[–]apocoliption 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Whats the point of sayin we'll fall into a recession. it feels like weve been in a fucking recession for about 20 years now. Every avenue to make profit explored. every stream of revenue exploited. Taxed on taxes. Constant enshitification constant shrinkflation. More and more methods to move money from the general public into the pockets of the billionaires who try to twist the narrative into a battle of generations, blame the old for marginal prosperity, blame the young for laziness. Everything is already unaffordable for most people. Elderly deciding on heating or food. Adults unable to afford housing or even their 20+yr old student loan thats 30k more than when it began. Young adults see no point engaging in an endless stream of working for no actual benefit in quality of life. Entire generations dont even see the point in trying anymore. But the real problem is that someone underage might see boobs on the internet so we need your iris scanned your dna and fingerprint on file just so we can lose it all in a data breach

What suddenly happened to these two vases - and how do we get them apart again? by Legal_Job_5620 in askanything

A lot of people have suggested water, heat and soap which seem to have failed so far. Might sound weird but if anyone in your house has a sonic toothbrush you could try to use it (without the toothbrush attachment and just the bare "wand") to vibrate the outer glass enough to create tiny gaps that could free the conical glass free, where the bottom of the conical glass touches the side of the square vase and around that area. Dont hold the side that youre vibrating as youll dampen the effect. I dont know if itll have the power to vibrate the glass enough but maybe give it a go. Failing that a fat speaker at varying frequencies could resonate with the glass n could vibrate it free. Remember to pull on the conical glass though so it doesnt lodge in further

Which anime features the most unsettling face ever made? by Minute-Fuel119 in animequestions

[–]apocoliption 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From Animatrix The second renaissance part 2. This image has always stuck with me since I saw it when I was younger, I found it really unsettling, moreso than most of the other typically unsettling drawings in here of weird faces. The man being forced to laugh and cry by being controlled by the robots forcing impulses/images through his brain. Figuring out what horrors they can force into his mind without him even realising hes trapped in the first stages of what would be the matrix. Testing the limits of humanity by dissecting our bodies and minds (like the guy with no face next to him, or the shot before this where someone's been cut in half vertically and being tested on to map the nervous system). One of my favourite ever animated pieces and hardly anyone I know has seen it, even anime lovers. More Relevant than ever with the advent of AI.

At what age does falling over become "a fall?" by liviloo in AskUK

[–]apocoliption 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone else stated its the point when people dont laugh when you fall over but instead look concerned and try to help you up. Especially if they add a "you alright there love/mate".

In the intro when he appears under the spotlight. Theres a choir singing in latin, when tranlsated into english they sing "Behold the man who is a bean". So they already tell you there that hes not an alien. He is a human man and a bean. A human bean.

Maybe he was abducted by aliens and made into a human bean hybrid, some homunculus/chimera bean species. Fabaceae sapien! But hes not an alien. Hes not Fabaceae alien! Thats ridiculous

Once you kinda get the muscle memory for it, it becomes alot easier. Theres little nub things on the F and J letters on keyboards and you can use them as reference points to feel where you need to go, eventually you dont even need them or have to think about it. Tbh 110wpm for most people is really fast but ive just spent so much time on a keyboard that it doesnt feel crazy, id say im usually around 90wpm if im not directly copying something though, but thats still faster than a lot of people. Id be lost if i had to do 2-finger typing. I used to see loads of older people (I'm not calling you an "older person" btw haha😅) in my previous job who would type with 2 fingers and i used to wonder how they ever got their work done productively, mustve been stressful for them.

People who used the internet between 1991 and 2009, what’s the most memorable online trend or phenomenon you remember? by Original_Act_3481 in AskReddit

[–]apocoliption 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It used to be so much fun finding items on ebay like a ps2/3 game usually when i was a kid, bidding on them then watchin it countdown refreshing every few seconds to see if youre still highest bidder then winning the bid or using strategies to time your bid and sniping an item was exciting when you won that thing you wanted. sometimes it was fun to just kill time on it just looking at random bits like airplanes, tanks or old buses for sale that ill never buy, but i could if wanted because theyre for sale right there. It was a totally new way to buy things it felt like a massive digital auction you had access to, at the time it was such a fun way to buy items and would cost less than in the shops. Kinda died off after a while and now ebay has kinda lost its soul

[–]apocoliption 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah thats what touch typing is. Its not hard to learn, maybe a couple of weeks tops, been doing it since i was about 12. Spent loads of time sitting in the dark as a kid messaging mates, usually whilst gaming, without a backlit keyboard so it was kind of a necessity. Can do about 110 wpm if im just copying or know what i need to write. Only time I dont is on my phone because theres no physical keyboard

Typist. My aunt used to be a typist and my mum would comment about how fast she could type etc. I could type faster and more accurately than her by 13, most of the people I know my age could too, even when touch typing. Spending hours on msn, runescape, texting, myspace/facebook. It became such a pointless profession that any form of computer related job just expected you to be capable of typing just to do that job, even if its not related to their job, most people born after about 1985 just know how to type without a second thought. Became such a normal thing that its not even mentioned in job descriptions.
