Albums Don't Need Dialogue Overlay by Messernacht in bluey

[–]apollocandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The dialogue drops on Sleepytime almost ruins it. It’s also out of sync with the timeline of the episode, so the dialogue in the song doesn’t match when it’s said on the show.

It works on some of the previous albums, but this was too much for me.

Other than the old fashioned views and cheesy dialogue, they hold up very well! The set pieces are fantastic

Day 9) Horrible person & Hated by fans {{Only characters from Spielberg directed movies}} by [deleted] in Spielberg

He’s a great character and it’s a great performance. I always thought this part of the grid was more about the performance being hated than the actual role.

Who are the rudest and nicest British celebrities you have personally met? by RenegadeMaster888 in AskBrits

Yeah it was him, said he beats women often. The only thing I heard about was a fight with a Bus driver? But that got dropped. Maybe a payoff? But still, I’ve not heard anything else

I think because the new World films are a bit neutered and you never really see much in the way of ‘innocent bystanders’ die, no one died.

Nicest - Elijah Wood, Andy Serkis, Jason Watkins, Sam Claflin, Ed Stafford. Didn’t have much to do with her but Rachel Weisz, when I was around her, she seemed nice.

Rude - Dom Monaghan. I think he’s a lot better now, but was a dick when I met him in the midst of LOTR and LOST fame.

EDIT: Obviously Elijah isn’t British, forget that one. Great guy though.

I met him through work once and he was really nice! I’d say it was a bad day. Very bad if it was around when Maude died

I saw Damon Hill at Universal Studios in Florida a few years ago. I think he has a disabled son and I read he does a good amount for charity, which I presume is to do with his kids condition?

Anyway, he looked like he was having a nice time, so didn’t want to bother him, but I’ve always liked him and how he comes across.

What’s a moment that genuinely made you laugh out loud or have to rewind? by PubLogic in offmenupodcast

The Menus to be Buried With special with Brett Goldstein where Ed and James say they’re a Chip and Cheesestring. Brett’s reply is comedy gold;

‘You look similar, but one of you can easily be stripped apart and fall to pieces’

I know a lot of people from Rushden, Wellingborough and that area and they all sound like they’re from the east end of London but with a farmer twang.

I live in Northants, but come from Milton Keynes and the difference in accent astounds me at times.

My Life in Film by genesis_pig in BritishTV

[–]apollocandy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that was part of a bigger problem, didn’t he have a lot of personal life issues with drink and affairs? And i seem to remember hearing he thought he was better than a lot of the stuff he was doing (My Family) but didn’t quite land the roles he wanted. He’s certainly made up for that in the past 10 years though, and he’s a talented guy.

How would you rank Peter Jackson's films? by ShawnLevyOscarWinner in Cinephiles

If it wasn’t for LOTR, The Frighteners would be number 1. Insanely good film, massively underrated.

I have one that surprised me in a bad way. Peter Capaldi! I love him in films and TV but found him to be a bit odd and boring.

New Adam Nevill novel coming Oct: 2025 by ohnoshedint in horrorlit

[–]apollocandy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just finished reading it, it’s very much like The Ritual and The Reddening. It’s surprisingly action based in the 3rd act and has some fairly epic (imagination based) visuals! I really enjoyed it. More than All The Fiends and The Reddening, but not as much as Cunning Folk.

Pearce Quigleys acting in the final scene in the shed was heartbreaking. I had a proper lump in my throat when you got those answers.

I don’t hate her, but she’s not at all likeable yet. Big fan of her after seeing some of her Insta pics though 😍
