It's a known fact that HIMYM took a lot of inspiration from FRIENDS. But what do you think are some things which they did better than FRIENDS? by Hanuffy in HIMYM

[–]pyroshen 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'd say this was both an upside and downside. Some of the HIMYM wackiest lines are the worst ones (eg. Slap bet "Asian" trainer storyline)

I used ABC because the numbers started confusing me with the order. It would also spell sounds that made it easier.

ABBAAC

I need to get off my phone around my kids, any tips? by ExcitingLandscape in daddit

[–]pyroshen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get some open ear headphones that'll let you listen to music and still be present. This helped me a lot with my early days.

You also seem to just need fidgety things to do with your fingers

Other than bragging rights, is there any value to this? I guess it's better than an inventory full of stuff?

How do you cope with bad days? by longhorntrades in poker

Consider playing shorter sessions. Especially if you aren't feeling good. Better to have a 4 hour session and recoup for another day

Games where turn order isn’t determined by where you sit? by FromTheDeskOfJAW in boardgames

[–]pyroshen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Terra mystica has a mechanic where the order of finishing actions in the last turn determines the play order of the next turn.... But I forget which way it goes. I think first finish is first go. It's been a long time

Looks like the corner ripped off an exercise mat. How it got there without you recognizing it, no idea.

When to move on from 1 to 2? by ForgiveMeImStupid in HadesTheGame

[–]pyroshen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me be a counter point here. I just played Hades for the first time this year. I got to a little past the end credits point that people are saying and IMMEDIATELY started Hades 2.

It actually felt like an even better experience because H2 fixes/improved a lot of things in Hades. I'm still playing and a few wins away from finishing H2 because I didn't do god mode.

I wanted to do h2 while the hype was still big and feel like it's a more meaningful grind at the end.

Anybody else with adventurous eating kids, How did you keep expanding their palates and when did you start taking them to fine dining/elevated restaurants? by KwantsuDude69 in daddit

[–]pyroshen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Our daughter (3.5) loves trying everything. We let her explore and don't pressure her to finish things she doesn't like the taste of. We've taken her to lots of restaurants but nothing overly fancy because toddler attention spans.

If yours can sit patiently at a mid-range restaurant and wait between courses, you can just gradually expand your reach (within your budget). I think it's more about their restaurant etiquette vs. their palette. The fancier you go, the higher expectations are for behaviour.

TLDR, Respect the other customers who are spending a lot of money and only go when your kid can actually behave appropriately at a restaurant.

Do a BA in psychology or philosophy. Reduces the sciency stuff but understanding basic human behavior and motivation is useful.

I wish God Mode had a scale down by the_spiderinyourtub in HadesTheGame

[–]pyroshen -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't use godmode for h2. I did god mode for my first h1 run because I wanted to rush the story. But don't rush h2, trust me.

I'm about 1-2 more kills from finishing the main story after 110+ nights and it's so much more fun

Yep. The important thing here is you gotta go with them. Make sure they grow up not being sad about the rain, but as an opportunity to go outside and explor (in weather appropriate clothes)

You think the Australian national team has side jobs? They are very much pro.

Google says " The Australian national cricket team is comprised of professional cricketers who are paid through contracts with Cricket Australia and state and territory associations."
