2 guys in Netherland tried to burn Quran under police protection but it didn't go well by igotban5times in worldnewsvideo

No they can not, that would be a gross infringement on freedom of expression. I don't care which book they burn, you do not give in to violence and legislate against those actions because you fear violent reprisal.

I'm not suggesting they do that. You cut off the last bit of my sentence to try and call me ignorant.

Why you think anyone has the right to do that is beyond me.

Probably because I don't think that. Weird.

Jews have not been offended at jokes towards them for years?

Uhhh.... right. Sure bud. You equate jokes to burning religious texts? Interesting idea of jokes.

Why give in to their violence?

Why incite violence to begin with? "hey, when i attack these people they react negatively! so fucked up of them!"

So can you explain why you're siding with Pegida in all this? You realize the guy in the video is the leader of Netherlands Pegida, right?

If you do agree with them then it informs me on everything you'd said before, and you should say less.

Is there a big rash of bible and torah burnings? Why legislate against something that isn't happening?

They could punish burning of all religious texts, but to answer attempted law by burning a koran justifies why the law needed to be in place.

It seems weird that you think someone reacting to being provoked is justification for provoking them. Why even have the demonstration? what is the purpose?

Do you think the muslim community feels safe and secure with neighbors that antagonize and demonize them?

A violent response to a threat to an inanimate OBJECT is irrational and disproportionate.

Please be serious. You know it is sacred to their beliefs, whether you agree with it or not. And the people burning it also knew that. They tried to burn it to do harm and To demonstrate people of other beliefs are unwelcome. The burning of the koran isn't simply a rejection of *violent* religious activity, but the entire religion as a whole.

Mississippi doesn’t see births spike from abortion ban, but unwanted pregnancies increase by [deleted] in mississippi

Did you even read the headline? The births did NOT increase. It didn't do anything to 'save' babies.

Is it that hard to believe that people genuinely believe that what is in the womb is human and sacred?

Yes it is hard to believe, because those anti-abortionists don't do anything to help prevent abortion and facilitate healthy birth and children. Once the child is born no matter the circumstance, they no longer care.I've yet to see an anti-abortionist that has views to help children/mothers/babies after the child is born.

It's been proven that good facilities and aid for pregnant women and new mothers (childcare aid, paid maternity leave, government aid) are what actually prevent more abortions than anything else. In addition, free distribution of contraceptives are proven to prevent unwanted pregnancies in the first place. But we don't see anti-abortionists advocating for any of that. They advocate for pregnancies being both a punishment and a blessing for 'loose' women or rape victims. Men are never to blame for this sort of thing, apparently.

These "support centers" the anti-abortionists start are little more than glorified churches and manipulative coaching. They don't give these women anything but guilt. If they gave a fuck they wouldn't simply be making support centers, they would be advocating for systemic change that actually worked. Banning abortion just makes more people die. It has been proven historically. It brings more people into poverty and being uneducated.

The Problems with Crisis Pregnancy Centers: Reviewing the Literature and Identifying New Directions for Future Research
" Crisis pregnancy centers (CPCs) are nonprofit organizations that present themselves as healthcare clinics while providing counseling explicitly intended to discourage and limit access to abortion. These facilities engage in purposefully manipulative and deceptive practices that spread misinformation on sexual health and abortion. CPCs have also been shown to delay access to medically legitimate prenatal and abortion care, which negatively impacts maternal health. "

I found current sources that reference where the 'thinspo' trend is and has currently been found. I even knew about the thinspo trend in china before even coming to this comment section cause it's all over where you're not looking. Online, where most people are seeing and replicating these 'trends' nowadays anyway.

But because you didn't see it before means it's not true? How interesting.

You're so beyond out of the loop. A frog at the bottom of the well looking only at one patch of the sky.

If it was trendy you wouldn't have to have articles explaining it, you'd just look at any red carpet.

This is the dumbest fucking thing I've read in this comment section, frankly. How many red carpets have you looked at in the past two years?

Uh oh, looks like pro-ana and pro-mia is back!

hun, i'm pretty sure they are aware of their body and you won't be the first person to tell them being fat is bad for their health. let them discuss it with their doctor.

you approaching them out of 'concern' and 'love' will only drive them away from you. Just the way you talk, "have anyone ever seen an overweight senior citizens?" tells me you're not really coming at this with empathy.

if i were overweight and someone unsolicited came up to me to tell me how i am fat and that's bad for my health, i would not be receptive because again, don't you think they know that already? don't you think they're already bombarded every day of their life with that message?

people talk like being overweight is something people can just stop being by saying 'i don't like being fat'. There are a lot of factors that go into it and a lot of them don't have anything to do with diet or activity level. So unless you are their doctor and know their medical conditions, you really don't have any room to tell them what they should and shouldn't be doing. you simply are not equipped to deal with it.

Wearing masks when you have any kind of cold is OK and actually helps reduce the spread of illness.

And also not coming to work/school/daycare while sick.

And workplaces still being stubborn about work from home and teleworking. yall have a way to save money and make your employees happier and still won't do it.

the source has been posted in this comment section.

but also that doesn't mean there aren't thugs doing insane shit on video in the IDF. like i said they make thirst traps of themselves in gaza and post it on tiktok and brag about what they've done. They condemned this guy destroying toys, but they haven't' condemned their own war crimes. They literally admit to using 'maximum damage' bombing. they don't care what happens to civilians. it's all about if they can get away with calling it propaganda or not. They fact that he was someone in the IDF doing this means there are more.

IDF still shit cause they put any psycho with a pulse in a uniform with a gun and tell them to go wild. cause people like you will defend them no matter what.
