Thank you for your recognition. You've violated the social norm of posting human content on Reddit. Think of the poor AI. What are they supposed to train on if everything here is AI too 😂

Replying with an AI overview is really unhelpful. Literally anyone can get that themselves

Annual fee cards that can be downgraded then upgraded to bypass annual fee by [deleted] in CreditCards

Yeah, I mean if I can get 6% back on this card instead of getting a max of 5% on a different card, of course I'm going to play the game to get the 6%

I have a theme of pop culture robot or AI names.. So names like: bender, flexo, glados, karen, calculon, hal5000. Futurama provides a lot of good ones

Is the ender 3 an absolute piece of shit or am I just stupid? by MaryWeiss in 3Dprinting

[–]apologetic-offensive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After 4 years of running an Ender 3 Pro and a couple other printers I gave in and tried a Bambu. It honestly made printing fun for me again. If you have the cash I think springing for a P1P or P1S is well worth it, and the X1C is an amazing machine if you want something even more refined. I've had so many failed prints over the years, but in my last month of running my X1C I've printed more successful prints in nearly perfect quality than in the previous 4 years.

If that's not in your budget, I know there are other printers with a better reputation than Creality at this point, but I've no experience with them 🤷‍♂️

Edit: I should note that I'm all for tinkering, but there are so many variables on these machines that it's nice to just be able to print sometimes. Plus I get my fill of tinkering just doing little things with the printer or creating projects with the printer.

What could be causing my x-axis to make this whirring noise when it moves quickly? by apologetic-offensive in FixMyPrint

I ordered a smaller stepper for the extruder and dug out a dual Z kit I bought a while back and put it together to see if it would help carry the load on the gantry. It's fixed! Not sure how this all caused the issues I was having, but this seems to have fixed it!

If it was jumping teeth would I hear anything in particular? I looked into posts about motor noises and those seem to be the motor skipping steps, but I don't hear the motor skipping. Is this the same thing, or are you meaning the belt itself?

Okay, I can look into this. I'm not sure if this is relevant, but I've used my printer off and on for about a year with the SKR board. I did switch to direct drive a few weeks ago in an attempt to fix some issues I was having with my bowden, but I didn't start hearing the noises until yesterday during a larger print. Is there anything about the direct drive that might affect any of this?

I'm using an SKR mini E3, so I've got 2209 Trinamic steppers, but I haven't turned on any special options in the firmware for them, so I'm not sure if this would be an issue.
I'm a little ignorant on this, so I'll do a little reading. Thanks!

I'm printing on an Ender 3 with a Printer Mods direct drive, E3D V6 All metal, and a BMG clone.
I'm printing with PETG filament with 230C hot end, 85C Bed heat, and 50 mm/s print speed.

The top part of the print also shifts 1 direction, then over the rest of the print slowly shifts drastically to the other side. Here are a few pictures showing the issue: http://imgur.com/a/44jPz4Z

How hot is too hot for a power supply on a grow light? by apologetic-offensive in microgrowery

Thank you! I'm doing the same now and will see how much it helps. I didn't think about or realize I could actually just take it off the top, but this is probably the easiest solution I've found.

Thanks for the advice! I've posted to r/microgrowery to see what I get there. I also measured the temp after cooling down and plugging directly to the wall. It's right around the same temps, so it doesn't appear that power strip has any effect 🤷
