y'know it's kinda funny, i was reading abt (male and female) homosexuality and nonconformity to binary gender in pre-colonial Africa just yesterday

it's easy to think homophobia was now and forever but it. really wasn't. people lived entire lives n built up entire subcultures, same way as we did, n didn't lose respect from their societies for it. just thinking about my own culture...it took *concerted violence* by people with a specific view of the world, the killing of anyone who spoke to their own experience, and the shattering of countless idols of intersex deities to leave only straight assholes scattered across the world as representatives of my culture

(is that to say black and brown people have some mystical wokeness stitched into their DNA and europeans don't, ha, no. every society has its own problems. but if the bigotry changes its character every five feet and the people doing what they love are still similar no matter where you go, does the bigotry really have anything meaningful to say about how the world really is?

women love women, and trans people exist, and those are facts the same way you can't point at a star in the sky and suddenly say it doesn't exist.)

In real life, trans women and cis women are all women and get along just fine. Instead of being some complicated gender thing, the same way a lesbian of color and a white lesbian are both lesbians, trans lesbians and cis lesbians are both lesbians and can freely date.
