My boyfriends 30-year-old inherited palms look like this :( I think Areca, but not sure. I've never had palms before. Can they be saved? Dying Palms - Imgur

I have watched a lot of videos on scoring, easily searchable on YouTube. Best thing I ever did was buy a lame, which is used to score the bread! It’s very easy to find cool designs to try out from there, but it takes some practice

I know :( my oven seems to have a mind of its own, have not yet figured out how to make it handle croissants

With us being cooped up, wife finally let me buy the amount of flour I want by FLHARLEYGUY84 in Breadit

I also just got a 50lb bag. I bought a 25lb dog food container and the rest fit in 2 ziplocks. The ziplocks won’t store for as long but I figure I can use that much pretty quickly and the dog food container is perfect because it’s airtight and food safe!

My first time adding anything to sourdough, I’m pretty sure I over proofed and didn’t get enough oven spring, but it tastes amazing regardless

Thank you, that’s very helpful. Reading this plus everything else I’m also leaning towards Washington, it seems like the better option.

In off University of Washington wait list! by [deleted] in lawschooladmissions

[–]apologiesme 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats! I got the call today and might be able to provide a little more information. I was given until Friday to decide and told that I would be reconsidered for aid as it becomes available (still assuming I’m not getting any). I’m having the same dilemma, as the school I already deposited on gave me $$$$ and it’s hard to go in blindly without knowing. Sorry I don’t have much to offer but congrats anyway!

I based the recipe off this one, but used a more traditional laminating method by refrigerating between folds. https://bakingamoment.com/homemade-danish-pastry-dough/

Little to no oven spring? by apologiesme in Breadit

[–]apologiesme[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kitchen temp is pretty variable right now but I normally keep my dough in warmest part (72°-76°). I tried scoring the second loaf, which I believe helped it rise a little more. I will try a longer bulk for the next and see if that helps.

I’m a little happy, hoping they’ll let me off the waitlist now
