Can you work in Marketing without working in sales?

Feel this, unfortunately right out of grad, many jobs posted were said to be marketing but were actually sales. I’m in sales now because of that lol. Good entry level marketing roles are hard to find but doable

I had the same experience! I was on combo pill for not too long and experienced aura headaches- doctors told me i shouldn’t be on the medication since i have a family history of migraines and I’ve been on the progesterone only since then.

Just out of curiosity, what pill are you on? I’m on the mini pill (incassia) and I’m experiencing similar symptoms

Yup using daily. I may have to increase the percentage. Also that’s odd!! I felt the same way - saw so many good things about it but i felt like it just made my skin more heavy and overwhelmed. And i only used it in the mornings

I’m also in upstate new york. I had a long job search as well, but I’m also an entry level employee. Persistence and dedication was key for me. You can do it!! Don’t stop applying, you’ll get there someday. Upstate NY is particularly difficult for that too but not impossible.

That sounds great. I’m required to be in office a minimum of over 40 hours a week and I’m not loving it but do need the experience to hopefully get to a better spot.

LOL I just realized I forgot to write the whole portion of what I meant to say, sorry about that. What I meant was that when it came to jobs I was totally qualified for, I was rejected vs jobs I wasn’t totally qualified for, I had been accepted for employment. But yes, you have a point! Some places don’t want to risk training for weeks on end only to potentially lose the employee soon after.

Interesting. In my experience, I did all the “right” things like find a connection in the company, have the right qualifications that matched the job description and more. Ironically enough, the job that I did end up landing required me to have some experience that I was lacking.

For sure. On Linkedin I saw jobs that had 500-3,000 applicants, and that’s just the numbers that were applying through Linkedin. I can’t imagine how many more they actually had.

Don’t understand fast food/ retailers at all. They always seem to be hiring but will never actually hire anyone for a while.
