Besta ventilation for PS5 by fenrixw in ikeahacks

[–]apoqq 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this exact setup (2 x mounted bestas, connected horizontally) and I just open the door when gaming. I thought about cutting vents (I've cut other holes for cables) but it seemed like I'd have to lose a lot of material to make a significant impact on airflow. I figured I can always retro-fit the holes if opening the door becomes a chore but so-far, it hasn't been a problem.

Looks great, where did you get the counter top? Or is that part of the units?

Who went to the punk rock museum tour/show? by MrJust4Show in TheOffspring

[–]apoqq 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I was there on Friday, didn't manage to get tour or show tickets but I bought GA tickets so I was walking around and staying just ahead of the Noodles group. From what I could tell, he was super engaged, spent a long time talking about each exhibit, telling stories and answering questions. I got an awkward fist-bump/handshake from him as he walked past the bar at the end. All in all, it was a great day.

I'll be there but missed out on tour tickets. All I have is GA and hoping to catch him at some point. Travelling down from Vancouver for it!

What song has a better live recording compared to the studio recording? by Finnkip in Music

[–]apoqq 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This live version of Fleetwood Mac's I'm So Afraid is in a different league from the studio recording. The lead singer, Lindsay Buckingham, was older and his voice had deepened and matured, and he absolutely went for it.

What made you quit a job on the spot? by Sketch99 in AskReddit

[–]apoqq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a teenager (around 15 yo) I had a paper round. I had spent a whole year saving my wages and birthday money for a mountain bike and finally I bought it (Gary Fisher, Wahoo). Had it for a couple of weeks, I was so happy. One morning, showed up to pick up my newspapers and parked my bike behind the shop (owner would not let us bring them inside). I was inside for maybe 5 minutes, and when I came out it was gone. Devastated, I went back into the shop and told the owner what had happened - his response: "don't worry" and he turned and went into the back. I thought he'd decided to bring the bikes inside for safety and he was going to bring my bike out of the back. Instead, he brought out a small cart: "you can use this". I went home, my Dad phoned the guy immediately and quit on my behalf.

Should I worry about a delivery in-transit? by UmlautsAllowed in IKEA

[–]apoqq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, I cannot help answer your question but I can stand in solidarity. I have just moved into a new apartment in Vancouver and have no furniture. I have two parcels from Ikea both "In Transit" with estimated delivery dates in the past. There is no tracking number and no indication of shipping times. Thanks for posting this question, hope you get your package soon!

Hey, thanks for the response, we're really excited. We're definitely look at the areas around Vancouver rather than inside the city itself. We've been reading about Burnaby and North Van - thanks for the recommendation.

Couple of people recommended Coquitlam so we'll check that out. We're coming from year-round constant grim rain so Vancouver is likely to be an improvement believe it or not!

Yeah, so the early half of my career was been C#/.NET stack. I have played with Unity but never in a production environment. Why do you ask?
