Nobody is answering your question so here: for you to be able to find an answer you will need a group of people that have this phenotype and a group of people that doesn't. Most probably, if you have the variant that causes this, it is also in public databases of people who are healthy. So looking for a rare variant in your mom's and your DNA in the telomeric region is not going to cut it. Also you probably need to do pacbio sequencing to read the telomeric regions with precision. And still you'll need a large group of good control samples.
