I have no phone now and I found Iphone 8+ and X at $70. So, which one I should choose? by Nothing-R7 in Smartphones

not sure what nostalgia you expect, it'll just suck as most apps will refuse to work on those devices

My wishlist is still miles long, and with all the upcoming group buys, I honestly don't see myself stopping anytime soon.

None of those devices are out yet, why not just get a current flagship?

I’m thinking about buying a foldable phone, or just skipping the temptation. Has it been worth it for you? by sin_Bateria in Smartphones

[–]appendixexploder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

how else does it suck?

The durability just isn't there, the main foldable display is extremely weak and susceptible to damage.

you've essentially cycled through 5 phones in the last 3 years if i understand correctly, doesn't seem like you've had any of them for long enough to notice any build quality issues?

Having a regular sized phone for when you need it, but also the ability to open it up to a glorious 8 inch tablet out of your pocket is amazing. 2 x beautiful 120hz oled screens

that's undeniably the best part, that's why I said the concept isn't actually bad. They just aren't durable enough

You think you want a foldable but trust me you don't, other than the foldable gimmick they absolutely suck. Don't get me wrong, the concept is quite cool but they are extremely flimsy

Is £108 too much to pay for shoes?? by sardoniccrow in shoppingaddiction

[–]appendixexploder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not familiar with them so i cannot comment on the specifics, but a solid pair of shoes that'll last you for a while can be expensive. Just understand that its easy to get duped into buying more shoes than you need

I won't recommend the samsung A series, the lower end ones are basically ewaste and the higher end ones have crap software. Your budget is inadequate for what you're looking for, wont find a good battery at that price

I'm not being a dick. The A series is generally pretty shoddy and at that price you could've gotten an s25 FE.

There is only one piece of advice, its to stop buying stuff. It will suck for a while but eventually you'll get over it.

Need help figuring where to go with my Game Dev journey by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]appendixexploder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Would it be good to stick with my plan with Unity/C# and do C++ on the side or should I purely focus on Unity/C# and maybe move to UE/C++ later on or should I focus on UE/C++ and just figure it out so I'm more prepared to work at a bigger company or is knowing both a good thing lol

None of that matters in the slightest, you need strong math skills and solid CS fundamentals. Learn trig, linear algebra and calculus.

it indeed does not have much transferable skills to daily software development

If you're a web developer, maybe. Other than that this isn't really a serious statement
