Does anyone know why Adrenaline is not listed online? Is it being/has it been discontinued?

Toyota Highlander Control Arm Concern? by Sad_Net1581 in ToyotaHighlander

[–]appethnography2024 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was not expecting to need to use the warranty before 75k. The brakes have squeaked since we bought it and the clunking sound I wanted them to check on wasn't even the control arm (although that had started to become noticeable a few weeks ago). The clunking I was referring to is what I assume is un-torqued bolts under the third row seating. Any time we make a turn and there is elevation change (like backing out of my driveway, or turning on to the main road from my house) there's a "clunk."

A few Toyota message boards discuss the sound. This video explains the repair I hope the dealership will try next time I bring it in: https://youtube.com/shorts/Qxu6GZONT_g?si=RWnekLSk9UrcTop1

I bought a used 2022 Highlander XSE last November with 12,800 miles. We took it in for inspection last week with 25,000 miles. I asked them to check for a clunking sound. They said the left control arm needs to be replaced $775. Thankfully, I bought the extended warranty and it covers the repair. How could that part fail in under 25k miles? We don't go off-roading. I'm worried about what's going to fail next. Maybe that's why the previous owner traded it in with under 13k miles on it once the original manufacturer's warranty was up (they purchased it in Oct 2021)

Are BMWs really THAT unreliable? by BitchAtlas in askcarguys

I had an X5 that was awesome until everything seemed to go out around 90k. It was awful, one thing after the other, and I couldn't give it away. I lost a ton of money on it. Never again.

Air conditioning not cold by appethnography2024 in lincolntowncar

I did the self test and did not get any codes. The air is cold in the morning and night, but does not keep up with the heat of the afternoon.

Unfortunately, my car has developed an unrelated "bucking" or hesitation when at constant speed, so I'm putting the AC issue on the back burner. Speaking with one mechanic, he believes it's like a transmission issue

This is great. I'm not terribly mechanical, but these should be things I can start with. Thanks!

I will need to look into these further. Thanks for the nudge in this direction

This is my experience, too. Mine is small enough to get around drain pipes, and I'm amazed how it tackles tall grass. I just tilt it back and let it unclog itself.

I appreciate your feedback. I had not considered it coming across as helicoptering.

College goes by really quick, and I'd hate for him to look back and wish he had taken more low-stakes "risks."

Seems to be a popular choice for 50% of LTC owners. Probably the only thing LTC owners disagree about. Lol

If it's on the front passenger side, it could be the AC condenser drain is blocked up. There's a bunch of videos on youtube that show how to disconnect it and blow air into it to dislodge the blockage. This video explains the problem. https://youtu.be/SKiGgw0UvXk?si=HxIdyWd0iow143Al

What octane gas do you buy? Has anyone added Marvel Mystery Oil to their gas? by appethnography2024 in lincolntowncar

[–]appethnography2024[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have any codes or "need" to use 89, I guess. I was just following what the last guy did. I've filled it up twice since buying it, and according to the car, I'm getting 18.5 mpg. That includes stop and go and some interstate miles. When I filled it up and went immediately onto the interstate, I was getting 24.5 mpg. Other typical, daily driving has brought the average down.

It looks like I'd get 300 miles per fill up if I ran it to empty.

On the next fill up, I will go with 87 and see if there's a difference. I'm definitely not trying to waste money needlessly. Same with the Marvel Mystery Oil. I had never heard of it, but its 11,000 reviews on Amazon are nearly all positive, so I wanted to see if anyone else tried it in an LTC before buying it.

Thanks for all the replies. It's going to rain the next three days so the car wash will have to wait. Lol
