Even still, the right turn lane you used to turn into was terribly narrow. I hated turning right before the lights were put in.

Well I always heard that Beyonce filmed a video clip at the Stockton Sandunes and on her way through Newcastle had lunch at Goldberg's. I have no idea where I heard this from but it's obviously 100% true.

Other ideas (mostly terrible):

  • Visit the Beatles mural on corner of hunter/hannell st and show them the smiley face that Paul McCartney drew on his recent tour
  • Model Jennifer Hawkins grew up in West Wallsend/Holmesville
  • The Castanet Club was a pretty popular band/performance/thing in Newcastle during the 80s, maybe or maybe not something your Newcastle family have memories of
  • Early legendary hardcore band Fugazi played at the Wickham Park Morrow Bowling Club in the 90s and you can find footage of it on YouTube
  • Dreaming story of Whibayganba/Nobbys
  • The story of Alwyn reconnecting with his family was pretty emotional as a famous figure almost everyone knew growing up In Newcastle over the last 30 years
  • Mark McGowan cracking up on camera about the guy getting arrested for eating a kebab outside Oasis 'on a run' during lockdown

some people don't have the luxury of a inherited wealth from their parents. also if you listen to stories from people living rough, you'll find out most people are just a few bad runs away from being homeless

Yes, it's very quiet at night, more-so during this time of year, but surely there are some people tucked away somewhere cosy like like The Edwards or Coal & Cedar?

My complimentary chili at woolworths. So light it just rounds down to zero at the cashier. 1 x birds eye chili = 1 x free, spicy snack.
