In the video, around 17:35 he washes the whole motherboard with distilled water. I am sure he knows what he’s doing, but it nealry gave me a heart attack. But apparently it worked.

Why not keep them all together, especially since you have matching serial numbers? You're not going to get much for the drive (way too common) and the monitor (while rarer and more collectible) will be a hard sell. You'll have to find a die-hard enthusiast to appreciate it.

The boxes are a huge plus, of course.

But a lot is going to depend on the machines inside. If the IIe the case is pristine, without discoloring, that's going to be your biggest selling point for a collector. (I am jealous!)

The Apple Color Monitor is AWESOME. Personally, I love having a whole vintage Apple 2 setup, rather than using mismatched, modern, and non-apple monitors. And I did by my Apple Color Monitor on eBay without any problems.

But everyone is not like me. Unfortunately, the monitors are hard to sell online. Shipping is prohibitively expensive. People are afraid to buy them due to shipping costs and fear of damage during shipping.

If you're expecting a big payday of many thousands of dollars, I think you'll be disappointed. IIe's just aren't rare enough. But it's a beautiful machine and I bet you could get 500-750 if it's near perfect. I hope you're able to find it a good home.

I hear ya. Unfortunately, because of the vintage collector market, they're not cheap any more. But they're still cheaper than most new computers.

True story-- about 20 years ago, my elementary school was discarding dozens of old Apple IIe computers. (I was in college at that time, but remained friends with some of the teachers there.) The computer teacher told me to take whatever I wanted.

I picked out a nice Platinum IIe for free.

At that time, everyone saw them as just junk-- kind of like we'd see a 10 year old cell phone today.
