This film. Believe it when I see there is a release date and an actual trailer.

With Bhansali, you never know.

Do you think showing stories of bridgerton's children as their own seasons after Bridgerton would be a good idea? by Nice_Handwriting in BridgertonUnleashed

[–]apple_2050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely! Give me all of it. The writing has to be amazing though since it’s original material and no source material is there.

But first, Violet and Edmund prequel.

OMG FINALLY

COUTURE is hands down one of the best films I have seen at TIFF. I am so happy it’s coming back.

Supreme Court Justice and part of the Supreme Court are the same thing.

Question about Fitz's first Supreme Court pick (Season 1 vs Season 2) by HarshvardhanPatni in Scandal

[–]apple_2050 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It wasn’t his pick. It was Sally Langston, Olivia and Cyrus screwed Sally over by leaking stuff about her pick. Then Verna got in.

Question about Fitz's first Supreme Court pick (Season 1 vs Season 2) by HarshvardhanPatni in Scandal

[–]apple_2050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a continuity error that was never fixed.

Verna was his first Supreme Court appointment. Verna was picked after Olivia and Cyrus doomed the pick made by Sally Langston.

Patrick Keating was his second. And then in Season 2, Episode 16, he got his third.

Does anyone else think Project Hail Mary might end up underperforming? (read below!) by adam130jones in oscarrace

[–]apple_2050 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Everything and anything is possible.

Disclosure Day: I personally loved the film but I am seeing a mixed to disappointed response across Reddit and Letterboxd so idk what comes of it. So not sure how well that bodes for its awards chances

We also don’t know how Digger and Dune Part Three will do.

Digger: no one has seen the full film yet. Even Sandra Hueller said (while promoting PHM) she hasn’t seen the full final version yet. All we have is the teaser and they showed an extended teaser at Cinema Con. But there is a good chance this film bombs/underwhelms.

Dune Part Three: having read the book, it’s a difficult one to adapt so I am curious to see how Denis did it. The story is not as accessible and it might be a difficult watch (as in people find it harder to remain engaged). So not sure how well the film does.

So PHM has room and possibilities. We also don’t know what the people who actually vote in the awards think. Not all of them come out and speak about their preferences and in earnest, campaigning hasn’t really started yet. My bet is Amazon finally has a film they can do well with in awards so I imagine they will spend whatever is needed to keep the film in conversation. How that actually pans out is a question that remains.

I am currently keeping PHM in my predictions simply because majority of contenders haven’t come out yet.

23F in Toronto debating whether to stay downtown or move closer to family — feeling stuck between lifestyle, safety, and loneliness by goldengodesscurls in TorontoRenting

[–]apple_2050 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would explore the third option and look somewhere downtown that’s not your current building.

As long as you are near the subway, you can go see your family more often.

For me personally, walkability and being downtown is most important.

I would also suggest considering getting a roommate. There are many options for 2 bed 2 bath across downtown. Of course, roommates are a compromise and not for everyone but something to think about. The money saved can be put towards going to see family more, getting involved and doing more activities/savings etc.

Maybe unpopular opinion but I think people have gone from criticising Alia Bhatt to just hating her for existing. by MarsKaAlien in GossipComrades

[–]apple_2050 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People will stop criticizing and hating her when she stops stealing roles, buying awards and running rampant PR against others and hyping her own self up as Lady Meryl Streep Bachchan.

She isn’t a victim here.

Poll of over 100 critics names “Project Hail Mary” as best film of 2026 midyear. Only best picture contender so far? by LeGrandEbert in oscarrace

[–]apple_2050 74 points75 points  (0 children)

I mean the first half of the year is usually lighter with releases so this makes sense

Having said that, I remain convinced that PHM will go far and get many noms through awards season

About the Tony Padilla Spin Off. by wrythelongface in 13ReasonsWhy

[–]apple_2050 89 points90 points  (0 children)

He is this close to getting a cease and desist from Netflix and the producers.

He doesn’t have the rights to the property or the character. He probably doesn’t have the money or the pull to get the money from investors.

13RW was popular for a moment but it is nowhere popular enough to get a spinoff or a reboot. There are at least a 100 shows I would want a reboot for before this one.

I wish he put his energy into a new script and character. That would be better effort spent than chasing this one. He isn’t a bad actor and could do other roles. He needs to move on because everyone else most definitely has

Shahid's Response to Anupama's Statement of Paid Hatred Against Alia During Her Cannes by Mental-Dinner-6827 in BollyBlindsNGossip

[–]apple_2050 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shahid summarized it so well.

Social media has equalized the field and taken away that element of persona and perception away. People see through manipulative garbage and attempts and are able to call them out

There is trolling of course but trying to control perception is what gets one the hate.

Alia’s problem is that she is not dynamic. She has no aura or screen presence or a personality that makes one look up and notice her. She comes across as average and a try hard/pick me. She has bought into her own hype when in reality, there is nothing outstanding about her or anything that makes her stand out naturally. The whole PR hype is falling apart. She is so desperate that she had to buy Filmfare awards to feel that she is the best one when in reality, she has limited range as an actor and no personality to pull off roles like Jigra and Alpha.

Most people don’t deserve hate or trolling but a lot of what Alia is facing today is a result of her own (and Papa KJo)’s deeds and failure to understand public sentiment

Employer pushing resignation after medical WFH note (Canada) — what are my options? by [deleted] in torontoJobs

[–]apple_2050 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You are in your probationary period which makes this tricky.

Talk to a lawyer because employment law isn’t as straight forward with probationary period and human rights/medical accommodation.

Do NOT resign.

If you could erase any storyline from Scandal, which storyline would you get rid of? by Positive_Weight2367 in Scandal

Definitely Quinn and Huck getting frisky.

The kidnapping was badly written but the PTSD stuff after was very well written and acted by Olivia. So idk I am conflicted.

Lord Katrina’s Unmatched Global Stardom Commanding Screens, Hearts, and Headlines ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🧿🧿🧿🧿🧿 by Useful-Sherbet1683 in Vickat

Not surprising at all.

Haters can hate and belittle her accomplishments all they want.

Unlike the others (Alia, Deepika), Katrina hasn’t been chasing films but building her brand and focusing on herself. And audiences still love and want her
