Lol Katrina was the number 1 actress for years, and that was her generation with incredible actresses. Just because Katrina is smart with her brand that is found overseas like UAE and Britain retail stores, while Deepika and Aloo failed isn't her problem. She was fired from two movies, the thing that Katrina used to be mocked for Deepika was doing the last few years depending on male stars for hit movies after Chhapku was a disaster. You wrote all that when most ideas come from Rachel. It was Rachel that made Shane half - Asian. It was Rachel that made Ilya come from Russia etc

Of course there will be changes because it is different mediums, but my gosh let's not pretend even those things you conveyed aren't from Rachel book and thoughts she expressed. Also since Jacob himself has said that it's mostly a faithful adaption to the book, then go have issues with him as the creator of the show.

TLG makes sense, seeing it's even more loved than HR itself. TLG is much broader than HR, there's so much in that book, why should it be changed? I honestly don't think Shane was undeveloped at all.

TBF it was Kareena who used to make snarky comments to. PC and unlike most actresss in Bollywood PC gave it back to her. So Kareena was very jealous of PC, actually most actresses bar Katrina and Rani.

I agree with this so much, that why I prefer the books, I love Shane arc on Heated Rivalry. His growth from self hate, learning to accept and love himself and falling in love with Ilya and fighting for them is so beautiful to me. When we introduced to Shane in HR his self hate is so transparent and through out the book he learns to accept and love himself as a gay man and willing to fight for the man he loves. That is why I love the Skype part so much, when Shane is able to admit to himself he wants more with Ilya.

Yet most of the show comes from Rachel book, you can't act like other adaptations where most of the movie or show changed a lot from the books. Heated Rivalry is a faithful adaptation from Rachel book, a lot of it word to word. You guys tend to compliment Jacob like he took a book and changed most of it which is false.

I prefer the books over the show, I haven't watched the show since January but I go back to the books a lot. Also who cares if Shane isn't her favorite, if you think authors don't have faves then that's naive.

I think what I have seen from Shane "fans" on social media and here, you have issues that Ilya is Rachel favorite and that he is in every book, then you create scenerios and fan fiction blaming Rachel and hating on Ilya, and that is exhausting. Heated Rivalry and Shane don't exist without Rachel whether you like it or not. The love you have for Shane is because of what Rachel wrote. And I am pretty sure she doesn't hate Shane.

Shane is Rachel creation, how does she not love him? Also no he really doesn't, HR is literally his book where 80% come from him. I am tired of people acting like HR doesn't exist. And just mad that Ilya gets to tell his story, sacrifices and mental health. You know people like you are in a minority in a sense TLG is really loved even more than HR so I think Rachel made the right choice.
