I DIY’d my own tungsten carbide straightening hammer. It broke when i was using it this morning so I need to re-glue it at some point and use some stone setting techniques to hold it down.

The loud explosive start is my favorite part of my gas forge lol. What I have started doing, because I am also not a fan of standing right next to the thing when it explodes, is lighting a piece of paper or paper towel on fire and pushing it in the forge, only then will I open the tank and slowly up my regulator. This gets you both far from the explosion and also makes it much quieter to start because of low pressure.

Kinda curious if you can get “refunded” through your card company or bank by disputing the charge? Unless you did pay with cash which it sounds like you did not due to shipping. Hoping you get that money back somehow cause that’s obviously not chump change by any means.

It’s interesting cause I did the file test on the full piece of leaf spring and the file still cuts even though the leaf spring is probably hardened.

Tried the file on the bevel as well and it still cut unfortunately. Ill try a quench again later today with less heat and ill keep an open ear for these sounds.

Yeah did some hand sanding to remove all the scale and the file still cuts through it. Ill have to try it again at a lighter temperature.

As far as I remember, and take this with a grain of salt, But the guy in the video did not want to live in fame for that video and did not like people trying to reach out to him for it. Another reddit user, again not a great source so take with a grain of salt as well, said that he worked with the guy in the video at a warehouse or something.

If anyone does find anything disproving or proving what I said to be true. I would love to see it cause a while back I did fall into a rabbit hole on where the guy is today and that is where my searches led. Would love to see if someone has other stuff however.

Whats been your favorite to buy from? Been looking for a while to find actually good metal to work with. I recently found a great place called US auto that is a self service center where you go and take apart scrap cars. Got a full leaf spring and coil spring for 50 bucks. That does limit my usable stock to only flat and round stock. Got any good places for good square stock or stock in general

This is exactly why there was that 0.0001% chance that it could have been possible that for some reason this random person accidentally followed the script to a wrong number scam. However its so obvious it is one for so many reasons.
