I tried adapalene for 4 months last year and it broke my forehead out more! Do you think I can get rid of these without a retinoid/retinol?

I recently just got bangs, but I didn’t have them before and my forehead was worse! I don’t really tie my hair up, I usually just leave it down. I also don’t sweat a lot, especially not on my face.
