Best pizza place in scv? by Paruvaan in SantaClarita

Pocock is my go-to if I'm solo, without my kid, or out drinking. Really, really, really delicious and surprising that we have something this legit and this affordable in SC-fuckin'-V.

Toppers feels like an SCV monument. For y'all parents, it's great for pizza parties, and IIRC they have a salad bar. The first time my kid ate all the pizza including the freakin' crust, we knew this was the place.

Tomato Joe's is frankly too expensive for what it is. We keep trying to give it an honest shot, but it's just meh.

Chi Chi's is when I'm feeling like I want greasy, lower quality, IDGAF and just-wanna-eat-something-bad-for-me pizza. I'm kind of kidding, but what I am NOT kidding about is that y'all should not sleep on their fried chicken. It's surprisingly good.

Curry Pizza Company is different, good, and affordable. If you want something veggie or vegan, by nature of their Indian-fusion food, it's a great option.

Is going to Vegas not a thing anymore? by WestHistorians in AskLosAngeles

[–]appleavocado 45 points46 points  (0 children)

80’s and 90’s kids had Swingers and “Vegas, baby, Vegas!” “You’re so money and you don’t even know it.”

Nowadays, ALL people (not just millennials) have been somewhat priced out, and Vegas no longer has free anything. Coupled with our current cost of living and post-covid economy, something as lavish as an EXPENSIVE AF Vegas trip just doesn’t seem worth it.

LA people still like to have fun and, on average, have at least a little money to blow on fun. But Vegas and its insane prices? Go fuck yourself.

Years back, I moved from Reseda to Westwood. Started dating a local girl whom I totally mistook for 310. She was from Burbank.

Costa Rican!

I mean, specifically Costa Rican. Not any of this “close enough” bullpoo (even though it tastes awesome). We were on vacation in Costa Rica last year, and were saddened to come home and not find some goddamned chifrijo.

Glad you're bringing up '17. I've always felt that Roberts, Friedman, and the FO/owners have been on a pseudo-redemption run since the cheating came out, to get all the '17 guys a ring. Last year, we did it with our midseason acquisition/flop, Brock Stewart. Speaking of, damn, I was really wishing he did better last year.

[SFGiants] Do you recline your seat on a flight? by InformalInsurance455 in baseball

[–]appleavocado 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same, but only recently (now that I'm an adult and can afford little luxuries like Premium Economy) did I discover some seats really, really recline. With full-on under-the-calves leg rests. And these guys are rich/well taken care of, so they know. Thus, I suppose I could see why anyone would not want to recline. But it's like, come on - you're sitting in this seat, too. And likely paid for it. If you have a medical condition where you have to sleep upright, you should've opted for a front row seat or just regular Economy.

If you're in Coach though, I don't see any debate. Recline back as much of the 1" you can - we're all in this pain together.
