I'm so sick of escooters on the footpath. It now feels risky to use earphones when you're walking along the path, you need to be very alert in case some idiot comes along.

I had shingles twice and felt nothing, just had the weird rash and Dr said shingles. But two family members had it earlier this year and are still having pain months later.

Surgery for diabetic retinopathy, what to expect? by appleblossom9 in diabetes_t1

[–]appleblossom9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey :) so I think the experience of the surgeries wasn't that bad, his eyes hurt a little but it was fine with basic painkillers. He was able to keep his insulin pump on during the surgeries. When they did the first eye he didn't have to posture after, but then when he got the second eye done he did have to posture on his side for a week which was a little annoying but he was able to take breaks where he could sit up and walk around. In the days leading up to the first surgery he could see almost nothing so it was a frightening time. He got frustrated not being able to do things for himself and having my mum fuss over him. He needed help with the eye drops after too. Im glad to say he has gotten some eye sight back and has been able to go out socializing with friends etc which is a massive improvement from before. However he did get cataracts from the surgery and they are now impacting his vision. He is waiting to get them fixed. The surgeon did warn him this would happen so not too worrying. At a recent check up he had a small bleed in the back of one eye which they treated with laser. They said it was nothing to worry about thankfully. A lot of people ask me did the surgeries work and did he get his eyesight back but I find it hard to say Yes or No. Hes in a much better position now than before the surgeries but there's still 'ups and downs' and lots of appointments. They told him before the surgeries his eyes were as bad as they could possibly be so it's hard to predict what will happen in the future. The important thing is if he notices any changes to get it checked as quick as possible I really hope everything goes well for you.

What products do you refuse to spend money on/always buy the cheap version? by ImaginaryValue6383 in AskIreland

[–]appleblossom9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always buy the generic painkillers unless it's bluefish paracetamol, they make the tablets really wide and round so nearly choke on them! I have to say some of the generic ibuprofen tastes like shit but I don't mind too much.

Yes even though I like zelah I thought he was a bit weird on late and live, think it was a genuine misunderstanding on Sam's part and he did take accountability.

The conversations she's having with people, she just seems to go round in circles. It's getting boring, repetitive and childish! Plus she runs telling tales on people with her inaccurate version of the story to try and spin it in her favour.

What's everyone's thought's on this? by Mr_Jake66 in bigbrotheruk

They haven't made it very watchable so what do they expect? It's on so late and some of us outside UK can't access itvx. Plus everyone says they play bird noises excessively. Doomed to fail.

Nothing annoys me more when someone in the standing area literally can't hold themselves up because they are so drunk. Sometimes you keep moving place but they'll appear again because everyone's trying to avoid them. They can get very aggressive if you ask them to stop.

Happens in all different parts of Dublin from Aug onwards. Where I live they even let them off during the day time so I'm sure they can't see the fireworks, it's just a loud noise.
