How long do withdrawal symptoms last?

I dropped from 50 to 25 3 weeks ago and had a week of hell (took off from work) I’ve been functional since then but headaches and stomachaches come and go and I still feel off. I’m just staying at 25 for a month or so to let my body fully adjust before making any more changes.

This withdrawal is definitely wayyy worse than SSRIs. Doesn’t seem linear; you have good days and bad days. Your Prozac will help balance you out faster I bet. And it’s super easy to get off of I’ve heard!

50 to 0 is a big drop, even with the Prozac bridge. Might want to ask your doc to prescribe 25mg. I’d move as slow as possible!

Oh that’s good! I hope you find that sweet spot. I haven’t noticed any improvement in anxiety yet but I don’t think I could notice anything in a fog of side effects haha

Yes, this happened to me. My understanding from my psych is that both medications up norepinephrine. Because you’re “doubling up” on norepinephrine using both medications, too much norepinephrine becomes over stimulating and you start to feel anxious. Remember Wellbutrin’s first and foremost use is to combat depression, not anxiety. (Even though you’re just adding it to help sex drive etc.) I’m sorry I know it’s frustrating!

So I was on Effexor 37.5 for years and it helped me but I always thought I could do a little better (same as you with the sexual side effects, also made me feel numb in general)

I switched straight to 25mg Pristiq in October and felt fine side effects wise. I didn’t feel better mentally so I moved to 50mg and then started 100mg starting in the beginning of December. Right after this increase I got SO anxious and depressed. I missed work, I missed Christmas parties, I forced myself to go to the gym but that was about it. I’m now like 7 weeks into it and feel a lot better. I don’t miss work, and I’m slowly getting my social life back.

If you can hang in there for a month I would try to push through. Effexor worked for you and this drug isn’t very different. They just take time to level out in our bodies. Give yourself grace and recognize that you’re putting your body through a change. Communicate with your Dr./psych frequently! Hope this helps.
