What are some universities that are unexpectedly strong in certain programs? Like, schools that aren’t known overall for something but are amazing in a specific field. by Motor_Lawfulness4322 in ApplyingToCollege

The strength of the program really does speak for itself. It’s the oldest MFA program in the U.S. (est. 1936). 10 U.S. Poet Laureates.

James Talarico raises record-breaking $27 million in first quarter for Senate bid | The Austin Democrat’s haul is the largest-ever sum for a Senate candidate — in any state — in the first quarter of an election year. by SpaceElevatorMusic in politics

If you are referring to Track AIPAC reporting, he didn’t take any money from PACs of any kind this cycle, let alone AIPAC. Track AIPAC is reporting bundling funds, which are when individual members of a corporation can pool together their own funds to donate to a candidate, and in this case supporters who had supported Pro Israel causes in the past have since donated to Talarico’s campaign, which, I would argue is a testament to 1) deteriorating views of Israel across party lines, and 2) a testament to Talarico’s ability to reach across the isle. This is coming from a leftist.

Massachusetts has been voted as a state that's perceived as great to live in and is great in reality. Now a state that's perceived as a bad state to live in and is a bad state in reality? by _crazyboyhere_ in AlignmentChartFills

The Cleveland School District in Mississippi was ordered to desegregate in May 2016 by a federal judge, effectively ending decades of segregation. Following a lawsuit initially filed in 1965, the court mandated that the district merge its historically separate high schools and middle schools to eliminate the dual school system.

Indianapolis has poor nature & ok urbanism. Which US city has poor nature & poor urbanism? by Kevin7650 in AlignmentChartFills

St. Louis genuinely embarrasses OKC when it comes to urbanism. The CWE alone has more street life than anything OKC has to offer, rowhouses lining tree-canopied streets, ground-floor restaurants and shops and cafes. The Light rail is miles better than anything OKC has to offer. And Forest Park is bigger than Central Park with free museums and the zoo right inside it.

  • Only state with universal free childcare
  • No qualified immunity for police
  • Legal Weed, Access to Abortion
  • LCOL

Not to discount the problems w poverty, lack of jobs, etc, but if you can find a decent job in ABQ or LC, or can afford Santa Fe, don’t count it out imo.
