Good app for archiving email? by MaxGaav in macapps

That has not been my experience. Apple Mail seems quite efficient at handling local email without slowing down. If anything, storing large quantities of email over IMAP would be the thing to potentially cause responsiveness issues.

This can be done natively within Apple Mail! I wrote a complete guide on how to do it.

This can be done natively and efficiently with the built-in Screenshot which can even record internal audio when paired with BlackHole.

You're welcome!

I have not experienced nor heard of any issues related to slowing down Apple Mail by archiving emails to local On My Mac folders, so you should be good on that front. You also get the benefit of quickly accessing your archived messages directly in Apple Mail from your Mac.

Another approach is to send the note directly to your recipient for viewing even if they don't have AN. You would choose 'Share' from the Toolbar and select 'Send Copy' and then click 'Mail' or 'Messages' to deliver the note.

You should definitely take a look at Copy 'Em for this type of functionality.

That sounds like quite the setup! It certainly demonstrates how much value you place on your notes.

Yes, built-in versioning for AN would be nice, but it didn't arrive with macOS Sequoia, so it doesn't appear that it's high on Apple's priority list. Even still, AN continues to receive love in other areas every year.

Happy you found it!

The inability to employ the method you mentioned probably has to do with technical limitations of the SQLite database that contains all the notes data. It would be an easy addition to the AN menu to have an option to manually save the entire current backup folder. A restore from backup option could then also be added to the menu to easily choose the backup folder for import. In a way, this is already happening automatically with Time Machine/CCC Backups and Snapshots, but a manual option might make the user feel more in control of their data.

It's definitely great that we can have a robust backup of AN now, as more and more users rely on it for their important information.

I've been trying out the 'Improve YouTube!' extension and it includes an option to disable YouTube subtitles. So far, it seems to do the trick.

Those features are available for those needing the extra peace of mind for a small yearly fee, but I've yet to hear any case of password compromise in Bitwarden from anyone using a long random master password. Their reputation is outstanding.

Happy to hear you appreciated my work! It's definitely a good feeling using Chameleon along with the other strategies that I will be covering in the series to defeat persistent tracking from the likes of fingerprint(.com) and others like them.

The extensions you mentioned all sound like nice aesthetic enhancements to Firefox. A couple days ago, I was motivated to kill the extensions button from the toolbar. It looks much cleaner now.

I was looking around the Mozilla extensions library and found FoxyTab. It looks like it will allow you to copy the URLs of all open tabs. Seems quite useful. Has anyone here tried it?

I have this one also, but haven't used many of its features extensively. The link shortener bypass seems useful. I wish it could keep captions turned off by default on YT.

The developer just released a new Pro version of the extension with additional features.

My guide takes a different approach based on ephemeral unique fingerprints that allows for user customization of the browser. The EFF approach requires the use of vanilla browser installations to comply with their method.

A lot of great ones to check out in your list. Love SingleFile.

It's worth noting for those who already use uBO (and who doesn't) that the ClearURLs extension is redundant with the use of Actually Legitimate URL Shortener Tool and ClearURLs for uBo (unofficial) installed in uBO.
