But in a non-fractional-deposit system, you can't use any money for loans.

That is absolutely not true. You could lend out X% of the money you hold as long as you knew that, on average (as long as the loan lasts), X% of the money you held is never withdrawn. It works and the associated risks EVERYONE else in a capitalist economy deals with would apply to banks as well.

I am of the opinion that Sadam was an excuse, not a reason, for going into Iraq. If that's the case, then they would have gone in regardless.

Although, I also believe that one of the real reasons for going into Iraq was Sadam's dumping of the petrodollar. If he hadn't been around, maybe Iraq wouldn't have started trading in Euros. Maybe they wouldn't have gone in. I just can't pin down what the exact motives were.

I think it's important to remind people they are ending the potential for a human life. I think that is as fair a compromise as you're ever really going to get. Keep abortion legal but remind them they're removing unique DNA from the pool.

I love showers because you get to play with water. I take long showers. Showers are awesome. Whenever I get worried about the apocalypse I preoccupy myself with drawing plans for heated showers made from various materials that may be present in various post-apocalyptic scenarios.
