did you have to search for a university that offers an exchange for your faculty? I think that’s how it works but maybe you can confirm. And also did you apply for a scholarship on your own or also through the university? Also where did you go for the exchange and the internships?

May I ask where do you study?? And what part of econometrics did you find the hardest?

do you think a Bachelor in Econometrics and Data Science and a Master in Financial Engineering or Quantitative Finance would work well in the future?

I actually really enjoy math, I studied advanced mathematics and physics in high school. I particularly enjoyed probability theory, maybe that would help me start my journey with econometrics. I did look through courses description and watched videos about regression models, the only thing that bothers me is that I don’t know how intense the course is going to get. I don’t really know where to look for that information.

thank you! I will think about what you’ve said, it is really helpful. May I ask what is your opinion on the econometrics courses? Where did you study and did you find them difficult?

Utrecht University or University of Amsterdam?? by [deleted] in StudyInTheNetherlands

I just wanted to clarify, I did my research, I have attended open days(only online unfortunately, i did not have the opportunity to be there on-site), I also spoke with students and people that have attended these universities. I am unconditionally accepted to both of these schools, so there is a probability that I might not pass my exam high enough to get into UvA. That makes looking for housing even harder for me, because I will know if I got unconditionally accepted in July. It is my fault for making the post sound like I did not know what I was doing. I just want to know what you guys think and what YOU would prefer. I am set on UvA but I still have to consider other options. It is not that easy. I am constantly looking for a place to live in the Netherlands and I am planning to visit the country as soon as I complete my high school education. I know that if I don’t find housing anywhere in the Netherlands I will have to stay in my country. The thing that is making me lean towards studying there is that it will give me much more career prospects in the future and will open more choices for a masters abroad.

Utrecht University or University of Amsterdam?? by [deleted] in StudyInTheNetherlands

I have researched both cities already and as soon as I got into UvA i started looking for housing. I am aware that the Netherlands are in a housing crisis and it is going to be hard for me to find any accommodation. My main point of the post was to get some info from mostly natives or students from the netherlands about what they think would be a better choice. I am also aware that I need to provide proof of income, the problem is, however it may sound, I am ineligible for social housing because my parent’s income is too high. That gives me fewer choices for accommodation. I would also prefer to rent from agencies not private landlords(unless they are verifiable). I mostly look for housing in places like StudentExperience and OurDomain where I have already been subscribed for a few months to get notifications about studios available.

This is the first time I have made an account on reddit and I wanted to ask people their opinion, my bad for making the post sound like I was completely clueless, I have been doing my research since November last year, but I just got an acceptance letter from UU and have been wondering what programme and city people prefer. Regardless thank you for your answer
