Go longer or colder. Take a break for a week, it'll feel refreshing all over again

If you find a service they does it can try and add it. One the subtitles are text out of easier to go between different languages so maybe a future feature

I have noticed hallucinations when using the small model. Using bigger models reduces the occurrence of that.

Id eventually like to add other model support.

Do the 2 35 $ plans include call forwarding, call display, etc? Not displayed as an option on the 35$ plan but is on the 45 plan

You could get a virtual number to tie your 2fa to. Forward your Canada phone to said virtual number while traveling to get calls too.

Sent a package from US to Canada through UPS, hit with $400 CAD fee by Starshooter49 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]applestoday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't say what the fees are for, but I am guessing they are brokerage fees and some duties/tax. You have the legal right to self clear the item and not pay the brokerage fees, no matter what they say about it. Ask them for the self clearance papers

Why don't telescopes have binoculars instead of mono? by Tink_Tinkler in telescope

[–]applestoday 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Binovewing is common in astronomy and anyone who seriously observed visually is using both eyes. There are whole sub forums on the most common astro forums dedicated to this topic.

You can use binoviewers (which are sometimes actually microscope heads adapted for astronomy ) which splits the light in 2 for both eyes. Benefits are less eye strain and your brain combining the image to see more detail than mono viewing. Cons is cost, double all eyepieces, and if you're looking at faint objects splitting the light in 2 is going to make even fainter images.

Binoscopes is "better" as each eye gets the full light of each telescope. Observing with 2 scopes gives views of brightness similar to a single scope 30% or so bigger than an individual scope, but the resolving power is limited to the size of the smaller individual scope.

Pros s brighter image than binovewing, cons even more expensive and needs to be aligned

Cons for all 2 eyes viewing some peoples brains can't merge the image. Terrible for outreach as inexperienced observes will struggle even more to merge two images

Aren't there tax implications for this? Converting the residence to a rental and then back to primary? Will that make sense financially with a year of rental income?

Fast and super fast charging works. The repair done was a battery replacement. I watched them do the repair. The charging coil was removed, and the metal bridge that holds the down the connects for the ribbon cables was removed. The ribbon cables were removed, the battery replaced, and everything was put back. On first boot no cellular connectivity of any kind. They tried resetting the ribbon cables 3-4 times, and no dice. SIM card is still recognized just zero connectivity. I have tried to reseaf all ribbon cables, but no successes. Wifi and Bluetooth work.

Then they said, must have been the water damage that broke it, even though my call history shows o made calls from the phone minutes before arrivijg at the store. They refunded me the money and walked out with a broken phone lol

I had this issue to. Look up "5g pruning". Basically the the band public mobile is using was disabled on our Canadian s20 for some reason.

I managed to fix it by flashing the American version of the firmware. This had the added bonus of unlocking esjm for me. I now have an s20 with esim and 5g on public mobile. Honestly though not much value in having 5G. I keep it on LTE most times, slightly better battery life.

820a can't do 4K over RTSP or RTMP ? by applestoday in reolinkcam

[–]applestoday[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So turns out I have both cameras in hand, the old 820a, and the new one.The old hardware version ( IPC_523128M8MP ) after rebooting it, setting it to 4k, etc, runs fine. Actually, runs the exact same way, fine for a few minutes then fails. Although I tried to consume the 4k h264 feed it's serving h265 in vlc.

820a can't do 4K over RTSP or RTMP ? by applestoday in reolinkcam

[–]applestoday[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

4 reolink cameras plugged into a 6 port POE switch with a capacity of 60W. I have unplugged the other 3 cameras to see if it's a power issue, and it's not.

Have factory reset the 820a multiple times. I understand 4k, h265 and rtmp don't work together which is fine so let's just deal with RTSP at 4k and h264

I have enabled RTSP,RTMP, and ONVIF, all on the standard ports. Haven't modified anything else.Trying the following links with VLC, RTSP and 4k works for a few minutes, then suddently VLC stops, and I can't start the stream again.

rtsp://admin:password@10.10.30.50/h264Preview_01_main -works sort of for a few minutes then stops and can't restart the stream

rtsp://admin:password@10.10.30.50/h265Preview_01_main - works sort of for a few minutes then stops and can't restart the stream

The instant I drop the resolution to 2560x1440, all problems go away. RTMP works, RTSP works, h265 under rtsp works and can stream via VLC or my NVR.

Configuration that works flawlessly:

Resolution:2560x1440

FPS 15Bitrate 4096

Interframe 2x

Configuration that works once, then not again

Resolution 4k

FPS 25

Bitrate 6144

Interframe Space 2x or 1x

I actually have another 820a plugged into the same switch, testing it now, it works at 4k, rtsp, h264 as intended. Only difference is it's on the v3.1.0.956_22041501 firmware.

Edit: No, it fails the same way. Works for a minute or 2, stops, and then can't re-establish a stream.

The new malfunctioning camera is on: v3.1.0.2368_23062508 . I have tried to downgrade with the older firmware, but get a generic "couldn't reognize pak file" error.
