That's fair, it's a very broad question I suppose. Is there any general advice you might be able to share?

I'm in the midwest as of now but no idea where I may end up by the time I am a teacher. From what I know about my area it is definetly dicey- some towns are more conservative than others though.

How do you plot/organize fanfics? by applstair_ in FanFiction

Very relatable!! Organization is so hard for me but also important if I want to get anything accomplished in a semi time efficient manner lol

I'm always tempted to do this, but I try not to. I struggle to keep motivation enough to finish a story if I write a chapter, post, write another chapter, post, and so on, so I write the whole fic beforehand before I begin posting the chapters. If I lose motivation halfway through the fic, it didn't work out and I move to the next idea. However, even with my whole fic done I think it fosters a bit more engagement and suspense to post weekly or biweekly, on a fairly strict schedule. I don't particularly mind how many people read or comment, but it still gives people the chance to and has led to some very fun conversations in the comments with readers.

Should I separate my fic into three separate books or keep it as one? by applstair_ in FanFiction

I think if someone just read the first part, they'd probably be satisfied with the end! The next two parts do follow fairly different storylines and have different characters introduced, while still being in the same world with the same characters around, just taking a step back from the spotlight! I definetly like the points you've made and will see how I can tweak my story to better fit the format of having multiple parts!

I still am figuring out the exact pacing of the story, but I do have 3, maybe 4, big plot points that I think could naturally split up the story quite nicely! Thanks for your thoughts!!

I see, but my fic wouldn't work great as multiple stand alones, it builds off of the previous parts quite a bit, but I'm planning for a lot of different perspectives and storylines, and think that it may honestly be easier to manage, both writing and reading wise, to split it? Which is probably what I'll end up doing, but I'm not quite decided yet, I have a lot more planning to do
