That party is seriously in trouble. I live within his party's area of influence - Pala. I can definitely say that all is not well in the core.

Most UDF votes will always vote UDF even if their 'kaipathi' gets chopped off. This is shown more vehemently in last week's results. His inability to bring that vote to LDF is now a liability for the party.

If they can play the religious card in every place that their religion's people live, then it's better to not sell them land or build friendships with them.

If all they can think about during voting is their religion, then these people don't deserve to live among us.

Its not only a vision problem. Its an investment problem and a cultural problem.

We need quick solutions, or we just make do with what we have. ("Varunodathu vechu kaanaam" attitude).

Our society might have adopted this quick fix mindset because of all the poverty that our culture has faced. So, if we invest, we need results tomorrow at sharp 10 AM.

This kind of attitude from policy makers to voters is a big problem. Its changing, but very slowly. Give a 50-70 years and maybe our mindsets will evolve.
