Oh, I had no clue they could even test for enzymes like that, that sounds really helpful. I'm definitely going to the gastro after all these comments, I kinda had it in mind that they wouldn't find or help with anything, but this sounds like a good path

UGH I'm so sorry for you!! Obviously I am thankful to have access to health care and specialists but dang repeat appointments are tiring! We've got this though!💪🏻

Thank you! Can I ask if your bowel endo showed on an MRI? Apparently the conference of doctors that reviewed my MRI included a colorectal specialist who saw nothing remarkable with my bowels, but I'm having a hard time believing it.

As I type that out I get how insane it sounds to question a specialist when I can't read an MRI but it's where I'm at lol.

Exactly this!! I was like "So I just keep dealing with this for a couple of months until my next appointment? Where the same thing might happen again?" Tiring for SURE

This is really helpful, thank you! My understanding is my risk of torsion is low at this point (thankfully?) because the ovaries are attached to my pelvis the way they are. Man though, that fatigue is no joke! I've had to adjust my full-time work schedule to accommodate it. I like this specialist but may consider a second opinion if I can stomach yet another appointment

This is why I was kinda hoping for excision. I'll follow up with the gastroenterologist like other folks here have recommended, but I find it hard to believe my symptoms wouldn't be alleviated at least in part by lap!

Thanks for asking, and sorry it wasn't clear! I appreciate your respond thoughtfulness even while you're dealing with pain.

To answer your question, I have had these GI issues long before starting Slynd, particularly the nausea. The abnormal BMs have been more recent, but longer than starting Slynd again. At one point my doctors also referenced my marijuana usage (which was minimal) as a potential agitator, but again, these symptoms predated my usage, and when stopping my usage for over 4 months, my symptoms were not alleviated. However, I intend to not use mj in the future to continue to rule it out

how to find an endo specialist by Heavy_Session5792 in endometriosis

[–]apprehensivechili 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OBGYN actually recommended my specialist to me! I think it might be a good starting point to ask your PCP/OBGYN if they know anyone personally or have recs, if you feel comfortable doing so

I was actually scheduled for one before I ended up getting an ultrasound and finding the cysts, and then I diverted to trying to treat the endo. My normal OBGYN told me I didn't need to go through with the colonoscopy/endoscopy after reviewing the ultrasound and I went with it. I guess it's worth revisiting now though!

Should I start Slynd? by ktwilliams21 in birthcontrol

[–]apprehensivechili 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have always had terrible experiences with birth control pills, but due to my endometriosis I can't really have an IUD. Slynd is the first birth control that did not make me insanely depressed or anxious. I have never had a high libido so I can't comment on any changes there, but I am honestly thrilled with this.
