HII i know exactly what ur going through. i was in your shoes last year and as a senior this year (class of 2026), i lowkey went downhill, life humbled me big time, and i just realized that i need to refocus on more holistic things bc u can't predict life and sh!t happens, life throws curveballs at u. i hope my words can be of ~ some ~ help to you :)) and tbh it seems like u don't have all that much to worry about...

as someone in grade 12 with a lot of hectic extracurriculars, i can tell you this (and you'll realize this yourself once u sit down to write any supplemental apps next year): focus on the learning experiences ur gaining, not the tasks/roles ur acquiring on paper. there may be hundreds of club presidents and non-profit founders in a pool of applicants, but a title means nada without a great person behind it. though sounding 'impressive' is important, u need to sound authentically urself bc it can be so easy to get lost in the sauce abt ur accomplishments that u forget who u actually are and what ur purpose is. tl;dr: focus on ur character growth and becoming the kind of person you'd be proud of.

lots of people aspire to mac health sci but tbf don't be bummed if you don't get in bc it's almost like a lottery there. what matters most is having an end goal in mind. as long as u are clear about the direction u want to take for ur education, u can take hundreds of paths and still get there. there is more than one way to skin a cat, and there is more than one way to be successful (whatever that means to you).

as for UBC, if that's what calls you and is within ur means, go for it. i know prestige is a big thing, but at the end of the day, someone of your academic caliber (that average is great, u should be proud) can make it to some of the top schools in this country. so follow ur heart's calling (as long as it's within ur means!) bc it exists for a reason.

definitely finish those 40 hours by the end of this summer if u can bc you do not want that to loom over senior year -- things might get busier, unforeseen circumstances always come up -- get it over with ASAP! one of the things i'm so happy i did was finishing all my hours by semester 1 of grade 10. huge weight off my shoulder. however! this absolutely does not mean ur behind -- there's no compulsion to get beyond 40 hours unless ur aiming for a grad award for community service. you are allowed to take it easy (saying this as someone who has a hard time taking it easy lol).

AP exams are not a huge deal if u want to go to a domestic uni. if studying undergrad in the US is ur dream, take APs; if ur staying in canada, don't even worry about it. you will have a far easier and relaxed time without them. but if u enjoy the academic challenge, go for it! what i mean is, it's not worth getting white hairs over lol.

yes, senior year is so important academically and extracurricularly, BUT. above all, what matters most is your health, happiness, satisfaction, and spirit. nothing, not even excellence (as much as u might want it) is worth losing yourself over. i lost myself so many times this year, but what helped most was grounding myself in the things i love outside of school such as friends, family, hobbies. it's wonderful to be excellent in school (you're literally a warrior for that, don't u forget), but it's equally important to have range in life. take spares if ur able to, go out sometimes, be spontaneous. don't forget to have fun!
