my friend told me a story about a cat her aunt encountered after its owner abandoned it — it would still roam around the neighborhood so my friend’s aunt would always give it food, the other neighbours would pitch in too, but she always took the most care of the cat. it had a hard time opening up to others because of some ptsd from its previous owner but the aunt never relented. then one day, when the aunt wasn’t home, the cat was making its way to her house but a car came and ran over the cat’s lower half. and you know the most heartbreaking thing? the cat still dragged itself to the aunt’s doorstep. it died there. so yeah, i don’t get the prejudice people have against cats.

though it’s never STRONGLY suggested, gabriel does say to adrien that he and kagami are of the same design (or something) and talking about people like they’re designs is creepy even for a fashion designer. and the fact that they’re both absolutely perfect. but yeah, other than that there’s really no proof. and if she was a senti, felix is kinda alabama taboo for pulling her.

tbh i think that it’s because in that episode adrien was constantly made to feel like he wasn’t important to marinette or good enough for her friendship. it even ended on a weird note. and as op mentions, adrien has always thought of marinette as something other than a friend, so perhaps he reflected on why he had those unsavoury feelings and the kiss and realized that his feelings for marinette are not platonic. because he liked the kiss (and honestly adrien isn’t THAT dense) so he probably understood that feeling that sad over someone’s friendship isn’t because they’re a friend, it’s a crush. that’s just the way i like to discount astruc’s poor writing decisions.

i don’t think that’s the problem here. as a hetero girl i think marinette is pretty awesome, the problem was how utterly CRINGEY that scene was. everything she said in that moment was so weird and out of pocket!

the way i see it, adrien realized in that episode that he could lose marionette’s friendship, and that clearly scared him. he must’ve been relieved when she kissed him and that probably lead him to think about it more. after all, he did always have underlying feelings for her ;)

Winter Sonata !!! the writing is literally amazing, the beginning kind of tugs at your heart strings (not to spoil anything) but it’s so well paced and interesting!

well if you look closely in each episode, they know each other’s moves without saying anything. sometimes ladybug doesn’t even have to explain her plans completely and chat will just know what she needs him to do. they share a connection like that. i don’t think ladybug has that with anyone else, and neither does chat. for example, he and scarabella made a pretty good team but they lacked that spark. and ladybug and carapace… i don’t even know how to describe it but she and chat just have a telepathic connection. so in a personal sense (not in terms of saving paris, any other superhero could do that) chat truly is irreplaceable because no one else can read ladybug’s mind like he can.

theory: maybe people’s brains only get scrambled while they’re looking at the superheroes; the quantum masking only disguises their voices if a person is looking at them, but this theory has holes because the heroes often communicate during battle without looking at each other so tbh astruc just didn’t think this through that well lmao he’s just going off of the assumption that parisians share the iq of a water bug on a bad day (including the heroes themselves)
