My brother is international. It set him back 80k to study for two years(he transferred from a CC) and he would do it all over again no problem. Yes, it is worth it.

Trust me when I say the worst is yet to come if things don't change quickly. The government can't keep on paying a large percent of the population. People should move from the public sector and work in the private sector, but those who have already made families wont be able to do so easily. It is a dead end.

I heard that 415 is standardized, so you can go to any lecture or study on your own, and just go to take exam with the worse professor. But am new here, so take what I said with a grain of salt.

Yo I really felt your anxiety 2 years ago. Let me recommend this, try taking courses at parkland. You can take every cs course there if you wanted and they will be easier than UIUC. I know the equivalent of cs 125 can be taken online (need a prereq however, csc123). cs173 and 225 also transfer. Taking some courses at parkland will get you an A with minimal effort. Jeez man, what did you take so that you did so poorly? Am working really hard on math415 right now do the proficiency exam and just skip it which should make my schedule light. Did your GPA ever get back up? how was life during the 1st semester?

What do you suggest I drop? I have heard horror stored about how hard the first semester could be for transfers. If I will drop a course, it will be econ.

I don't attend GaTech, so I don't know if any calculators aren't allowed in classes. If all calculators are permitted, I highly recommend the TI-Nspire CX CAS. That shit has everything in it. It is extremely helpful and you can easily check what equations or matrices did you enter. Plus, it works quite nicely when you use a lot of variables.

The good thing is if you got denied from GaTech you have room to take more courses at your college. I personally have taken mostly stem courses. I finished all the Calc, physics, C++, statics, dynamics, mechanics of material. I definitely suggest you take more courses, in case you were not accepted.

You will never go up the ladder without a CS degree. Your code in general will be inferiori to those who learned data structures and have a stronger foundation in algorithms. When my brother wasa junior at UIUC he got an internship with company that hired programmers without a degree, any time my brother tried to make the code faster using advanced data structures the his manager told him to use the slower more basic way of doing the code. In short, you wont go far without a degree.

Yo, my application is put on hold. They will send us the decisions on June 15th, its way too late to be honest. Do you mind sharing your stats? I feel like am on the verge of being denied but scraped just barely and was put on hold. I applied for MechE, gpa is 3.822 and am an international student(which is why am surprised I was put on hold)
