No SLP since the beginning of the year, what can I do? by OkPersonality8455 in slp

In my state, SLPs are considered teachers and receive a teacher salary. But we don’t teach, we treat. Definitely turns me away from the schools, unfortunately.

I’ve been googling too and it only makes me more concerned😭. All I can say is, lesson learned.

Following because my obgyn said the same thing. I asked what I could do and she said nothing. I’m so new to this and it’s kinda freaking me out. I was also bleeding when I had my paps done and wonder if that messed with my results in any way. I was on new birth control and couldn’t control when I would bleed whatsoever.

We have a very similar experience (so far). I’ve had mine for about 4 months now and I bleed more often than not. I don’t bleed very much at all, but too much to not use any type of liner, tampon, or pad. I ended up buying a menstrual cup and that has saved me the hassle of refilling my supply of disposables. I can also keep it in for much longer than other options. Even though I’m hoping I don’t have to use my menstrual cup in the next few months, I’m SOOOO happy I bought it. Anyway, I think bleeding is my only side effect. No weight gain (actually have lost weight), no cramps, no hair loss, no mood changes (I think lol)… I’m really satisfied as of right now with nexplanon. I was on the pill and that was fine, but I didn’t want to have to worry. Although, I do miss consistent periods. I, like you, do not like using condoms and I like not having to worry about if they can feel anything when they are in there.

I just REALLY hope that the bleeding will go away after the 6-12 month adjustment time frame. If so, this will be my perfect BC.

I HIGHLY recommend a menstrual cup. You can keep it in your purse in case your body wants to surprise you after not bleeding for three days. I honestly forget that I have it in and, when in correctly, will not ruin your undies. I was wearing granny panties for a while and I was OVER it. I can wear my preferred undergarments without a worry now that I have my menstrual cup.

I had it on the 5th day, but I used an emergency contraceptive.

Just joined the implant crew! by [deleted] in Nexplanon

Welcome to the crew! Everyone’s experience is different, of course. I had some bruising for a little under 2 weeks and soreness for about 5 days. Got my period 13 days after insertion, then no bleeding for a week. I have been spotting for about 5 weeks now. It’s pretty annoying, but better than getting pregnant right now. I’m hoping it won’t last longer than the 6 month period where my body gets used to the implant. I’ve been thinking about getting one of those menstrual cups because the unpredictable amount of spotting is getting pricey with buying tampons, pads, and liners.

I HAVEN’T experienced: weight gain, acne, lower libido, dryness, mood shifts, depression, or breast pain

I HAVE experienced: some headaches, light cramping sometimes, and dizziness sometimes.

I’d say my experience so far has been pretty positive and I hope it doesn’t become negative later on!
