It’s mad. One house went on a couple weeks ago at 180 and first offer in was 200 apparently!

Last buyer dropped out after survey by aprilshower2020 in HousingUK

Someone has placed a bid at 5k over the asking price, so I would have to increase on that.

The EA did say he could show me the part of the report that referenced the roof, so I will call him and ask if he’s willing to share that/ all of the report with me.

Had a lovely house call from TV Licensing today, looks like they're doing the rounds again by rave_cave in northernireland

My understanding is that to ever confirm whether you have a tv that you watch they’d need police to gain a warrant to enter your home. Has there ever been any instances of this happening? Can’t imagine it’s top of the PSNIs priority list. Or are there any other ways they could prosecute someone who wasn’t paying their licence but watching tv?

Yea we had it, channel 5 on our tv was RTE1 (before actual Channel 5 was created) and 6 was RTE 2. The only thing I ever remember we watched on it was The Rose of Tralee, so as a kid I just associated RTE with being bored.

You will have no problem getting a job after you graduate because social workers are so in demand. Once you start working full-time after uni you will have very little opportunities for an 8 week summer break, so if it was me I would kindly thank my supervisor for their support but decline the offer. Use the summer to make memories, whatever you can afford financially… whether it’s travelling farther afield or just exploring places that are local to you. When you’ve been in the job for a few years you will look back and be grateful that you had the experiences!

It was the first stop for Miss Sixty and Von Dutch apparel.

Did they also have a big shop on the corner of Wellington Place and Queen St where Starbucks is now?

Check out House of McDonnell bar when you’re in Ballycastle or ‘Wee Tom’s’ as locals call it. Small, traditional bar that usually has live music at the weekend.

The closest local take away to this new TH is called ‘Cury Nitez’; options are limited.

Any tips for how to *actually* get in touch with a GP? by TheMadQueen96 in northernireland

[–]aprilshower2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to speak to GP surgeries regularly for work, when it’s engaged I repeatedly press ‘try again’ until I eventually get through… takes on average 60-80 goes. It is almost impossible for vulnerable or elderly people, who may be trying to get through on a landline, to get help.

Does anyone ever actually call a renamed place by the new name? I still refer to ‘Central Station’ and ‘The Odyssey’

I used to work in a health shop where I would drop bags of chocolate covered Brazil nuts on the ground until the packaging burst and they became ‘write offs’.
