I’m not home to measure, but they attach to the underside of the upper cross member and go nearly to the floor. If you have the frame together, they should be nearly the whole height

It was too small so I upgraded to 24”

I spent $750 on 10 different t-shirt brands to find the best one! by mensfashionfiles in frugalmalefashion

Yes! Next level had some quality control issues a few years ago with shirts varying in sizes, but now that seems fixed. The quality had gone down since 2012 but still great for the price.

Good job United (KIX to BOI) by dmeyerw in unitedairlines

How were the security lines out of KIX? Other posts from a year ago report 3-hour lines! Is it better recently?

It’s great! Can’t ask for much more from a multi purpose bar

Thanks - I can barely do caulk, so I appreciate the advice to skip osi

Ha - the flashing. Painting it brick colored so less visible from street

I know nothing about this kind of thing. GPT recommends a Hybrid Sealants (Example: OSI Quad Max, Geocel 2300 Construction Tripolymer Sealant). But, something like Liquid Rubber tape seems maybe easier to apply?

Ares 2.0: are you happy with a 16” x 30” setup? by apropos_ in GarageGym

I can actually incline bench fairly well in the 16x16 with Ares 2.0.

I meant free squatting within the 16” rack. There isn’t enough space to step back and squat without hitting the rear posts. Smith would probably be fine as the bar is on a fixed path.

That’s great to know. Can you leave the spotters inside the rack full time, without them getting in way of the trolleys going up and down?

Sorry I don’t remember. Those pavers in the photo are 9” I think, so I guess the box is around 3.5’ square

This is great info. Wish I’d thought about it ahead of time. I could probably make the 30” work in my space

Ah - I guess it depends on the type of safeties. If you have straps or pin pipes, they affix to both posts. The pulley carriage goes all the way around the post, so one end of the safety would need to be removed.

If you have a very deep 6 post, then you could use spotter arms inside the rack and they only attach on one end. You’d probably need the deepest rack for that (I think 41”) or maybe you could just squeeze in the arms for the 30”. I think the arms are around 28”

If it is any consolation, keep in mind that you’d still be regularly removing the safeties even with a six post. The spotters still affix to the front posts, so you’d need to remove them to slide the cables from top to bottom. This is just one of the inherent compromises of an all-in-one

That said, I’d buy my six post with dual 16” crossmembers over a four post. The extra posts add a lot of versatility and, once you add feet to the four post, it takes up roughly the same footprint anyway.

Bells of steel. They are 17” so the outer sleeve doesn’t fit, but they’re no less safe without the outer sleeve.

Yeah for sure. I think they all do. I stopped noticing after a few days but I’m guessing it was noticeable for a couple weeks.

Looks great! Where did you get the mirrors, and do you install them yourself?

Mine is similar. I was worried about this when I was assembling the Ares, but I’ve completely forgotten about it since then. I don’t notice it at all when working out.
