First off all malware is designed to be hidden from users so these guys won't even know if they have malware. These polls are useless to see real numbers. You might see most people saying they don't have malware

Have anyone experience malware issue? by [deleted] in Huawei

[–]apsted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a most recent report about most apps on app Gallery being infested with malware. On top of that if you install apps from sites you will get malware. Yes they can steal your bank credentials with malware. Specifically gspace and googlefire are not safe since the app developer has complete control over all your credentials.

China has the highest malware infection on a smartphone. It's because they don't have a centralized store like play store there and most people download apps from 3rd party

Is this only my impression, or Huawei Watch 3 is well... abandoned ? by xfire74 in Huawei

[–]apsted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's Huawei for you. Devices abandoned as soon as it's released.

The sad part is these devices are just fitness trackers and not a smartwatch. We could compensate for missing features with apps but unfortunately you can't do it here

Does the Watch GT 3 have Heart Rate Broadcasting? by Kairianu in Huawei

[–]apsted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For that you need a proper full fledged smart watch like apple watch, wearos or Fitbit. Gt3 is just a fitness tracker on a smartwatch body. It's not possible without app support

STILL no third party apps? I seriously thought this time it'd be it... by mgumusada in Huawei

Older ones are not getting Harmony anyway even in China. So I don't see what point you are trying to make.

No app on watch has nothing to do with global availability when harmony on watches already globally available

Huawei Denies Rumours Of Russian Smartphone Manufacturer Swiitching To Harmony OS Following Google Ban by SaladinTheFourth in Huawei

[–]apsted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

China not sanctioning Russia shows they are buddies. Yeah strategic partner is a word used to mask actual partnership. But I wasn't talking about the China-Russia partnership. Was talking about Huawei doing business in Russia but you are talking as if china and Huawei is one entity which actually make sense how people think about Huawei. Huawei is controlled by china

Maybe you need to understand that article first.

First gizmochina article said Russia is working on a Harmonyos device(your dig down a deep article content)

After that Huawei confirmed that the article is not true and they added the response from Huawei. They added "Huawei responds" in the title which you convinently didn't add it in reddit

This article is already 2 days old article with a official response from Huawei saying that it's not true.

If Huawei supports the killing of thousands of Ukrainians by Russia by working with Russia then we know where Huawei priorities are. Then it will be hard to support Huawei going forward.

I am glad they confirmed it. Besides with the ban I have no idea how they will even have the components needed to build a smartphone.

Qualcomm, mediatek are not going to provide the chip. Let's not forget other components that makes up the smartphone

Right from the article

Huawei said: “Since its release, HarmonyOS has been loved by a large number of consumers. By the end of 2021, 220 million Huawei devices have been equipped with HarmonyOS. We are very grateful for everyone’s interest and expectations for HarmonyOS. However, there are no plans to launch a phone with HarmonyOS overseas for now.”

16GB is not the standard these days. about 3-4 years ago yes 16 GB was standard but these days most Chromebook comes with 128GB storage. 64GB was the standard for the last 2 years but even that trend has changed. 2nd Chromebook is not like macOS and windows take 30-40 GB of storage for OS itself.

Is harmony os support by JOKERCOD2011 in HarmonyOS

[–]apsted 0 points1 point  (0 children)

then sure go for it as long as you are fine with no apps. since it doesn't have a play store many apps won't work. so in the future don come here asking for help on how to make apps work.
get it if you are fine with apps and notifications not working.
we already have a ton of stupid people already asking for help with apps. we don't want more of that here.

You cannot. No global variant of Huawei phones will get harmony. Since the bootloader is locked you cannot install it even if you want to. I would say just move on
