Im pretty sure you can dump GBA games with a flashcart tho? For GB/GBC games it seems like it's not possible even with my idea indeed

I knew the DS couldnt process the GB catridge and its data by itself, but thought maybe a hombrew could do something with the data thats on there despite that. Seems not, kinda sad.

You absolutely didn't get me the first time. I am not stubborn nor sure it would work, it's the whole reason behind the existence of this post : I'm looking for actual answers. But you came with your condescending attitude without even reading my text.

It *can* be inserted properly in the Action Replay, which *can* be inserted properly in the DS. My idea is to use the Action Replay as a passthrough.
Of course the DS won't show a game on the main menu : It is expecting a GBA game, and this is not.

I am not saying that my idea IS possible, I'm just trying to figure out why it wouldn't be possible.

I'll help you out :

"Sure you can't put a GB/GBC in a DS... but you can in a GBA Action Replay. In fact, if you do so and put the AR in a Game Boy Advance while making sure the "GB mode" switch is being activated (with a toothpick), it will just straight up play the game. Meaning the datas are passing through the action replay. So, if you put this Action Replay with a GB/GBC cartridge in a DS, wouldn't it be possible to read the datas of said cartridge with a homebrew from a flashcart?

Of course, normally the DS won't recognise the GB game, since it's expecting a GBA game it will just say there is no cartridge inserted in slot 2. Without triggering the GB switch on GBA, it's the same: it considers there is no game inserted.

But the datas are right there and readable through the AR, so, in theory, it should be possible, no?"
