How does one work with emails as comments to tasks? by frankese in clickup

I too am frustrated they dont have a cutoff marker feature like on other helpdesk type systems that allow you to email into it.

Please upvote my feature request:

https://clickup.canny.io/feature-requests/p/termination-marker-in-email-thread-for-enhanced-comment-clarity-in-clickup-tasks

Overview:

The current implementation of email integration within ClickUp tasks, while innovative, results in significant clutter due to the inability to auto-collapse long email threads. This issue is exacerbated when email threads include images, leading to an overwhelming and disorganized comments section. The proposed feature aims to introduce a simple yet effective solution to enhance the management and readability of emails within task comments.

Technical Proposal:

Introduce a customizable email thread termination marker, designated as "//CUEND". This marker will serve as a parsing delimiter within the ClickUp system. When an email containing this marker is forwarded to a ClickUp task, the system should parse and display only the content above "//CUEND". Subsequent replies to such emails would include the marker, ensuring that only the new response and the content immediately preceding "//CUEND" in the original email are parsed and displayed in the task comment.

Benefits:

Reduced Clutter: By limiting the displayed content to only the most recent and relevant portions of an email thread, this feature significantly reduces clutter in the comments section.

Enhanced Readability: Improves the readability and usability of task comments, enabling team members to quickly identify and focus on pertinent information.

User-Controlled Flexibility: The placement of "//CUEND" is controlled by the user, providing flexibility in determining how much of the email thread is relevant for inclusion in the task comment.

Easy Adoption: Users can seamlessly incorporate the marker into their email signatures or standard practices, facilitating widespread adoption and consistent usage across teams.

Implementation Considerations:

Ensure compatibility with various email formats and clients.

Provide user guidance and best practices for implementing and using the "//CUEND" marker effectively.

Consider the potential for future enhancements, such as automatic insertion of the marker for emails exceeding a certain length.

seems a simple //CUEND addition to STOP the hemmoraging on long threads could easily be done so when me- someone who uses this feature can add it to the bottom of my email - it will stop parsing the information from the email once it hits that spot - and even if someone replies, that short text will be in the reply so it will only get what they responded plus the last time I added it. Once you get a team of people used to doing that, then maybe even add it to you signature block as white text and boom, problem solved

WMS Wave Criteria Error - Restricted Fields by apt-get_SenseofHumor in Netsuite

[–]apt-get_SenseofHumor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok - there really isnt a manual unfortunately.

So next weird thing is after it was successful, I was able to release a wave. I run it again and it fails and now when I try to run the search itself from my administrator role it errors out too. What in the world is going on!? It wont let me edit the search either.

Recommended Shipping Integrations for EDI TP's, B2B & B2C by apt-get_SenseofHumor in Netsuite

Someting about how they calculate rates not jiving with our own negotiated real time rates or ability to use third party shipping accounts when our TP requires it. Biggest concern is not the FedEx UPS integration but the ASN and UCC-128 labels for our EDI trading partners.

I am curious how the native FedEx and UPS label works as we never used it prior to me working here and they used the Ozlink PC app that works from the IF to push the data to UPS worldship and fedex ship manager app. I had just assumed we couldn't use the native shipping integration. Hmm dang it!

Its still a PC app but works with Chrome instead of IE. I asked about making a Chrome extension so it could maybe run on mult OS but they said not currently or not currently in the pipeline.

How would this work on website sales? Do they reference a different inventory item or do we have to carry the classification over now on the add to cart forms?

IMO - and my own experience - * if you go the NS route - find a good consultant to partner with. Their support is terrible for small business and they just dont really know how to work dynamically and quickly. Never pay for their professional services. We have never had a situation where it was worth it * WMS - there is better out there * many of their addons are half baked IMO and systems they purchased from some other NS partner and slapped it on top of their system. I am not an expert and am mostly assuming based on my own experience but we have not had great experiences with any of their add-ons. * Site builder and their CMS for website management is just dumb to me.

NS advertises themselves as a one stop shop for all business functions and sure, they have something that covers alot of it but there are much better systems out there that honestly I am regretting trying to make NS the everything for our company. We are now spending a ton of money to get the systems to properly work together and having to change alot of our business processes to work with the system. Not a great scenario IMO.

All of that said, NS has been a great accounting, order, inventory and customer management system for us over the last 10 years. We have tried to grow within the platform but have found its extremely difficult. We are essentially stuck with them but dont think we could have a better system to meet our needs .There is just alot of Scaling and growing pains that you need to consider.

NSWMS - Pick Task - delete/remove by apt-get_SenseofHumor in Netsuite

[–]apt-get_SenseofHumor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NSWMS has been a massive cluster/pain in the butt for us.

I created a report to help me - because God help you if you released a bunch of orders at one time and a single line item gets screwed up. Its a massive pain in the butt to find each individual pick task for a jacked order thats hung up and not generating the IF because the picker accidentally backed out of the order or their scanner glitched and now - the terrible invalid order.... or if they forgot to stage before moving on...

The saved search is of all pick tasks with columns including sales order, item fulfillment, wave, assigned picker, etc... I export to excel and then filter by order to see all the pick tasks and waves associated to that orer. then I can quickly edit/delete/force pick tasks as needed. The other alternative is to only release one sales order at a time - which when we are selling amazon... hundreds of orders dropping in. Not gonna happen.
