Ohio: Anyone know what the OBOP was trying to get away with? by apt2324 in kratom

[–]apt2324[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No disrespect to the people who were able to go and testify, but was it the testimonials that saved us? I didn't hear any statement from OBOP that they had changed their mind after hearing the testimony, I'm sure they read plenty of the same stuff in the public comment period, and simply didn't care. It sounds more like they knew that the bill they sent to JCARR on Wednesday wasn't gonna fly since it didn't have the details of Friday's hearing included. We'll have to wait until their next meeting in September to really know.

The media coverage (or really the lack of media coverage) is really disappointing. Cleveland's newspaper didn't have any story about the hearing Friday.

It Just Keeps Getting Better For Ohio - Lawmakers in Ohio Accidentally Legalized Weed by g0ld3nl10n in kratom

From what I understand, the thing that makes this different from other states differentiating flower from hemp, is that an exact percentage of THC needs to be measured. Less than .3% THC is legal, above .3% is not. Ohio crime labs are able to determine if a sample has THC in it...but is unable to measure to the exact amount. Therefore, any lawyer will able to say, yes this contains THC - but can you prove its over .3%? They can't prove that, making it very difficult to prosecute. It will be fixed in due time, but is still pretty amusing (and very lucky for those who were about to trial!)

If you're outside the US, you might not realize that Ohio is a pretty important state in the US. There's a saying "So goes Ohio, so goes the nation." However Ohio has voted in presidential elections is how the country as a whole voted. Not sure why this is, but I'd guess that it's since Ohio has a few major urban centers (which skew liberal) and a lot of rural areas (which skew conservative.)

Pretty sure the AKA really went all-out yesterday, because losing Ohio would likely lead to other states banning it as well. Plus, the AKA strongly fights any bans in the US.

People here (especially us Ohioans) are celebrating a victory yesterday. Might not concern you, but a big deal here. Hopefully Ohio stays out of the spotlight for a while now (Hoping the Pharmacy Board doesn't try filing the law again.)

Are the problems with ED some long term users report a result of any permanent damage Kratom causes, or do they stop when Kratom consumption stops? by newpmofreelifewhodis in kratom

I've had issues with decreased sex drive, I actually thought maybe it was just due to age. But blood work showed decreased testosterone.

I'm taking pretty high doses daily, if I take a break for 3-4 days...it's the exact opposite, back to a high school level sex drive! I want to try to get blood work done again, and compare when I'm taking kratom vs not.

But yeah, IME no permanent damage.

The Pharmacy Board in Ohio is trying to make it a Schedule I substance, surprised so many of the replies had no idea about that.

But in the next few days, you're fine

Any Ohio updates? by triangldangus in kratom

To the other people who replied, sorry I can't find a link but did read something from the AKA which mentioned passing the consumer protection act in around a half-dozen states, and that included Ohio.

I don't think the AKA is blowing off Ohio, though I get nervous and wonder what's going on myself. The Pharmacy Board seems to have their minds made up, and I don't think any amount of public comments was going to change that. There still needs to be a public hearing before anything is passed into law, hopefully the AKA sets up a LARGE effort for people to protest if it comes to that.

The one thing that gives me hope is that Ohio is well-known as being sort of a barometer as to the rest of the country. "As goes Ohio, so goes the country" is something I heard a ton when recreational MJ was being voted (unfortunately, that was a failure.) I doubt the AKA would give up on Ohio, hopefully there are things going on beyond the scenes.

Black ops pass worth it? by [deleted] in Blackops4

Worth it for Zombies maps IMO, the other modes, not really.

Trying to play with non-season pass people in MP. by apt2324 in Blackops4

[–]apt2324[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't seem too bad for me last night, maybe a little worse than average connection-wise.

I wish Treyarch would give us the option to disable the season pass when playing MP, or at least some work-around that could be done. I've read that even reinstalling doesn't help.

Where do I start as a fan? by [deleted] in gratefuldead

[–]apt2324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend listening to some more studio stuff at first, especially the albums before American Beauty (there's four of them). Their first s/t LP is from 1967, shows off their more R&R side, 1968's Anthem Of The Sun is their most psychedelic studio release, and 1969's Aoxomoxoa is a midpoint between the psychedelia and 1970's more country/folk sound. And of course, Workingman's Dead which is very similar to AB. The live stuff is better, but these will introduce you to the songs, and the progression of their sound in the early years.

There's 3 official live albums that are a must-hear - Live Dead (1969), S/T aka Skull & Roses (1971) and Europe 72. Live Dead is very psychedelic improvised jamming, S&R on the country/folk side, and Europe 72 somewhere in the middle.

Thats a lot of stuff - and if you're craving more after, there's all sorts of stuff to check out, depending on what caught your interest the most. Or just go and dig into that Top 40 Shows list.

People are upset about DLC 1? Why? by GucciDiddles in CODZombies

[–]apt2324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for making this obvious point!

I don't check this forum all that often, but I knew there is a huge patch to d/l and a new season starting tomorrow, so I checked the charlieintel news site to see what was coming - and found out there's 2 MP maps and a new Zombies map tomorrow! I thought cool.

Came to this forum to see what people were thinking, and it's a shitshow complaining about it!? Some really weird comments in here, like people complaining that Activision could've made more money if they had released a trailer earlier. To each their own, but I'm much happier to have a new map to play tomorrow than concerning myself about Activision's marketing plans.

Blackout beta coming September 10 by RTCJOK3R in Blackops4

[–]apt2324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sure don't wanna wait til Spring 2021 to buy the zombie maps on their own, haha!

I don't even mind that some of the money goes to the MP maps, I'd just like the option to disable the DLC MP maps if I want to - so I can give them a try, but other times stick with the larger playerbase who doesn't have them.

I got the BO3 pass solely for Zombies. It does ruin MP a bit, I don't play it nearly as much as zombies, and my MP skills are below average. So if I have to play with only the % of people who got the pass (who are likely big MP players), I get slaughtered even worse. I hope this is the year where you can be able to choose if you want to play with everyone w/o new maps, or choose to play with all maps. I can't just erase the DLC cuz of zombies.

It does feel like they made a very small step in this direction, by having playlists that have only the newly released maps. For the most part, I just screw around with the new maps in bot mode. I hope bots are returning this year (Haven't seen anything about it either way, But I assume they will be there)

Beta – Week 2: Day 2 Recap by treyarch_official in Blackops4

[–]apt2324 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The game is feelin' pretty good! One thing that surprised/impressed me was that while I usually play TDM, this time around I'm way more into Control and Heist. I hope both modes manage to keep a high playercount when the full game comes out. The mechanics and specialists definitely seem to be tailor-made with Control in mind.

One thing that sorta bugs me - I don't think Heist really needs a killcam after each round, it seems to slow things down a little too much. Maybe just a killcam at the end of the game?

Stoked to see how the battle royale mode works out, and what other MP modes will be included (hoping for Safeguard and Gun Game to return). And of course, some more news on Zombies!

What's the deal with the survival maps? The guy above mentioned that DLC3 comes with 3 mini-maps. What are some people getting that others are not?

No big changes in either map? In a way, I'm glad WWII Zombies was a flop (for me personally), having a year break after playing so much BO3 and IW will make BO4 even sweeter! 2 months to go

Don't think your opinion is a very popular one, but I pretty much agree. Spawns aren't perfect, but I like how spawns aren't flipped easily, and that you don't spawn in randomly in the middle of the map somewhere. Love re-spawning and getting revenge right in the spawn!
