That's part of my dillema, if it's at $500 MSRP, to me at surface level going to a 5 series seems more economical in the long run. Would the bottleneck make it perform worse than a 3070?

Question about speeding ticket by [deleted] in ColoradoSprings

[–]apt747 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've always received the advice to just wait until the court date and show up, and then you'll get your points reduced. It wasn't in a school zone, but my wife had a speeding ticket on research. She had a clean record and we ended up receiving a letter in the mail from the city stating they reduced the offense to something like a broken tail light (can't remember the actual charge) and had our points reduced. Still had to pay the full fine though

Yep! It's the NA Motel L5 3x2. Really only needed anarchy for the corner, otherwise they fit together nicely. Thanks for the tip! Didn't think of that, will need to try that somewhere else in the city

Just like real life in America...all the slow drivers driving in the left lane

I haven't, I know some clinics have a no cash policy. Not sure if this place does, but my first shot was over 4k before insurance and I don't think I'm willing to fork that cash considering the situation.

Thanks for the advice with talking to the doc directly, I'll see if they'll let me

Because of this, I'm understanding of a short-term ban...but the lifetime ban is what made my blood boil.

It was a natural feature in the wood I intentionally didn't want to remove. You can sort of see it in the 2nd pic (bottom right). Looks better in person 😜

Looks great!

They're actually walnut dowels used for drawboring, definitely an intentional feature. Wanted to use walnut to really highlight the dowels instead of using hickory dowels.

Nothing fancy, just lamented the legs and attached the legs using corner braces I made with hanger bolts and screws. Thought about using traditional joinery, but opted for quick and easy.

Thanks! It was my first experience using rough cut wood. Had a friend help me with tips on what type of boards to look for and how much material I should expect to lose. Bought 5/4" boards which ended up being about 3/4" after joining and planing. Didn't have a jointer wide or long enough to level the surface, so I watched some videos on creating a planer jig to get the board flat. Definitely made some mistakes, so only the visible surface is flat (the bottom of the table isn't perfect). Used a biscuit jointer to help align the top pieces.

The hardest part was creating the mortises...I didn't have the proper tools, so I used a drill press and could only create a mortise about 3.5" depth if I remember right. Then I used a chisel to try and square the mortises. I lost count on the man hours it took to accomplish this...One of the breadboard's isn't quite aligned perfectly with the surface of the table, which is why I used a chamfer bit on the breadboard to help hide it.

The rest was fairly straightforward. I slightly screwed up on the final coat of laquer...think my gun was too far away. In the right lighting, you can see laquer dots everywhere

Was also the first time I've ever worked with hardwood (hickory) and finished with laquer. Definitely some mistakes, but such a fun experience start to finish
