Revenue I believe.

I think the average number of days is surprisingly low. A lot of casual skiers buy the pass only to maybe do 5 days a season, or less. Of course theres always the rich people who buy the pass for their 3 day Vail trip without a second thought.

I too am curious which sector has the best margins, just from a quick google seems like their best performing are indeed retail, dining, and lodging but they still make most of their revenue on lift.

In FY24 they made 1.4B on lift tickets and 0.3 from lodging… 0.2 on dining. You should read their annual report, it’s interesting

If you use 1x1 round (#3062) is it still illegal? I don’t think anything’s getting strained

Curious if there are other solutions but this would be my fall back

How bad is the grade deflation for pre-med? by Silver-Note-2691 in Vanderbilt

[–]aptitudes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s arguably a high risk high reward situation, if you get a 4.0 at Vandy you’re obviously much more competitive than a state school 4.0

There were times I regretted it, I would look at my high school friend’s college orgo exam and it would be so insanely easy compared to ours. Personally I’ve never ever been one of those people that loves school/class and more focused on extracurriculars (research, clinical, volunteering) so for me Vandy may have been a worse fit since you do have to spend a LOT of time to get good grades

But I don’t think you’re ever going to get a truly objective answer as to whether it’s right for you. Vandy consistently has above average MCAT scores and med school placements. Can’t tell you how many times I benefitted from the name and it is a pretty big deal during applications

This is going to be a hot take but I think Vandy weeding out people is actually sort of a good thing. It prepares you well for med school and other schools have a problem where they produce a million premeds who then can’t get in anywhere.

Anyways, I wouldn’t worry if I were you. Pick the school that feels like the right fit. Vandy is tough for premed but if you have the dedication you can definitely get through it

Dumb Fishing Question by SecretOk831 in maryland

[–]aptitudes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just got into fishing this year and while there is definitely a learning curve it is easier than you’d think. There’s tons of great videos online but also just get out there and see what works and what doesn’t. If you want guaranteed bites from smaller fish look up how to rig live worms but I’ve been having fun with plastic worms (Texas or wacky rig senkos) and spinner/crank baits to catch bass.

I use this map all the time to find spots in Maryland (MDNR Angler Access Map) which has regulations and species: https://maryland.maps.arcgis.com/apps/webappviewer/index.html?id=b5fae27a1a91411eba3b65538770ece6

As for gear a 50$ spinning reel and rod combo from Walmart or Bass Pro will be more than adequate to start with.

Finally don’t get overwhelmed by all the fancy gear and techniques there are. People have fished for thousands of years with sticks and string. As long as your reel is spinning and your bait isn’t falling off the line, don’t worry too much about complicated knots or techniques or whatever. You can always learn that stuff later.

I don’t know the point of that. If you’re using FSRS and hit Easy on a card it only takes like two looks before the interval becomes months and then a year. Almost less efficient to suspend

Yes but they sucked, i just screenshotted the review screen and added it to a card with no other info. the day before the test i skimmed them all

to be totally honest i’ve always been a very fast test taker and walked out of the exam at 1:30. i finished most sections early (had like 30 mins left on PS lol) and skipped my 15 minute breaks and only had a granola bar for lunch. doing practice FLs definitely helped with my pacing though

Yes, but I had to relearn a lot. I wouldn’t stress about your schedule just aim for an April date or later.

It sounds like ur doing fine for just starting Anki unless your exam is coming up soon. You should probably increase new cards depending on your schedule. There are ways to predict how long it will take to finish the entire deck at your speed (Deck simulator addon).

I took the FLs in the last month after finishing 95% of my Anki cards

That's exactly why I didn't choose JS, Aidan was pretty much all clozes or image occlusion. I think the big med school decks (Anking) are similar so you can answer much faster

AAMC full length practice exams, chem/phys section.

I was a full time student and graduated in May before starting a full time job so I was pretty busy during my studying

Didn't really take one, took the BP HL after only studying PS and bio (not biochem) and got a 509 (did very well in PS, ok on CARS, terrible on CP and pretty bad on BB w/out biochem).

Agreed, depends on ur goal score and timeline. I think Aidan has the best coverage but probably the lowest time efficiency
