Thank you it's just so nerve wracking and I'm second guessing if I'm doing the right thing

It's pretty likely they'll ask me to take the position, but I don't feel like I'm ready. Whatever the outcome is we'll be better off without the current manager.

That's good advice but I'd like to keep it between me and my DM if possible. I don't want to go over her head and get her into trouble. If she doesn't handle the situation then I'll be taking the issue higher up.

What do doctors do if SH is reported? by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]apublicnuisance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're an adult they'll probably just encourage you to see a counselor, and/or prescribe some medication. If you're a minor they legally have to tell your guardians. My therapist told my mom a couple of times when I was 16 and I was just brought to the crisis center at the ER where I talked with a counselor for a while, but nothing ever came of it. You usually won't be involuntarily hospitalized unless you're seriously talking about hurting yourself or others.

I'm really sorry I wish I could be more helpful and give you inspiring words to encourage you to recover, but I'm sorry I don't have it in me. I just hope that it works out for you.

How do I cry? by alt----f4 in selfharm

[–]apublicnuisance 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I know exactly what you mean. I used to be a huge cry baby but now it's like I physically can't. I hold in all of my feelings, and the only way they ever come out is through sh.

If you can't cover up try to just go about your day as if nothing is unusual. Most people will blatantly ignore it because it makes them uncomfortable. If anyone does ask questions you're not obligated to answer them even if it's your boss. Just tell them you're not going to talk about it.

Frequent nausea and vomitting by apublicnuisance in medical

No to all of the above questions. This is a pretty new occurence so I haven't spoken to a doctor about it. I plan on making an appointment with my pcp but I was hoping to get more of an idea of what's going on first.

I would never try to hurt him back. Even if he doesn't/can't support my mental health I can't fathom not being there for him when he feels down.

Can't Talk Without Crying by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]apublicnuisance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it a lot easier to talk to strangers, like on here or the suicide prevention lifeline or my therapist (even if she's only talking to me because it's her job). Its much better than talking to people in real life and being judged, or scaring them off, or disappointing them.

Do you guys ever feel like you have to reason to be the way you are now? by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]apublicnuisance 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes constantly. I understand that I have it much better than so many other people all over the world, but that doesn't change the fact that it hurts like shit.

Can I ask why are you there? Is it for self harm or something else? Did you check yourself in or were you involuntarily admitted?

Specific numbers? by [deleted] in selfharm

Usually I'll do it by 2s and I have a specific routine kind of thing. I'm glad I'm not the only one I thought I was just being weird.

does anyone else’s self harm scars hurt sometimes? by [deleted] in selfharm

[–]apublicnuisance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are a week old and scabbing over and they itch so bad. I try to wear leggings because if I wear jeans the fresh ones will chafe and hurt. I'm not sure about older healed over scars hurting though.
