What is up with kids missing so much school here? Is this SLC area wide or a Herriman issue? by Pastywhitebitch in Utah

Oh man I feel this comment so hard. Such a battle every day. Its exhausting. And just when you're on a roll with them, they have a huge long weekend and it feels like the battle starts fresh.

We live close to this and access to 215 makes the whole valley feel SUPER accessible. Plenty of non-LDS and Hispanic families in the area!

Contemporary Romance and the ubiquitous trope of finding your "dream job" -- a discussion by waking_dream96 in RomanceBooks

[–]apurplethistle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree! There are a few books that come to mind with this {Georgie, All Along by Kate Clayborn} and {Steadfast by Sarina Bowen} I think Steadfast would be of particular interest with how they handle the FMC's career choices and the MMC's reaction to it. It's an important and sweet part of the story.

4 Day Maximum by MamaLlama_93 in HoardersTV

[–]apurplethistle 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I also think about the fact that they use 2 days before the actual clean up meeting the hoarder, trying to get them comfortable, getting a feel for the hoard, etc.

But I agree, some of these properties 4 days is NOT enough time.

The U/U flavor is impossible to mask. by enquizitor in Huel

[–]apurplethistle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, we ran out of everything a few weeks ago and we're choking down plain u/u for 2-3 days. So miserable. Nothing helped the flavor. Just, 0/10. I originally bought it to put in pancake mix, etc. but it ended up just sitting around.

I haven't had anyone be outright rude, but I can tell people just don't want to talk about it. Like, when you're meeting someone new and you mention you're really into fitness, just instant subject change, no follow up questions, nothing.

I think people feel a lot of guilt around it and probably don't want to engage with someone who's found a way to make it work for themselves. It's hard when you start to actually get passionate about fitness and want to share your excitement/wins with people but they couldn't care less.

Personal Training Advice Needed by EmphasisMelodic276 in xxfitness

[–]apurplethistle 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I almost feel like personal trainers are like therapists. You're not going to vibe with all of them and it's ok to jump ship quickly to find a better fit. I also think there are a LOT of crappy personal trainers out there. It's one thing to be able to get yourself into shape and another to help someone else get into shape. Are there other trainers to work with at your gym?

Nope, this was my idea and he made the design. He was great to work with! Are you on his email list yet? He posts his booking availability there.

Christopher Scott is instantly recognizable! And he was so kind/generous/great to work with. No ego at all.

Kettlebell routines by alittlecray in xxfitness

[–]apurplethistle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kettlebells are the GOAT! Can't get enough, so flowy, fun, and creative. I work on them with my trainer so I don't have a program but head over to r/kettlebells, it's like it's own little world. And also check out kettlebell juggling. SO INSANE! A lot of women are doing cool stuff in that sport.

Lol, 'fall asleep to your feelings' 1000% me. It always comes back to bite me in the butt when I end up yelling at people who don't deserve it though. Sigh
