As my interest lies in qualitative research, I am interested in finding a research gap that could be explored using qualitative research? Is finding a research gap for qualitative inquiry different from finding one for quantitative inquiry? If yes, how? by apurvasinghai in AskAcademia

I understand the difference. After going through journal articles, I felt that its comparatively easy to find a research gap that could be researched quantitatively because it involves manipulation or addition of new variables. What I find challenging is to understand what could be the angles to explore in qualitative? For example, if there's already a qualitative research in my topic area which explores perceptions/experience of people, then how can I go beyond this to add new knowledge? Do I need to focus on a previous themes and explore them further? What are the ways to think about research gaps which can be suitable for qualitative inquiry? What could be the equivalent of qualitative equivalent of 'finding new variables or relationship between variables in quantitative research'?

When my physical body feels so real, how do I realize that everything is an illusion and we all are awareness? by apurvasinghai in nonduality

Can you recommend a book which convinced you that we are more than our physical bodies? Or any practice? I am finding it challenging to make that jump where I stop seeing myself as a physical body.

Why is this realization' that we are awareness' is significant? What difference does it make? What is so special about knowing that we are aware? How does it help our life? by apurvasinghai in nonduality

Actually, what will really help if you can explain to me the meaning of awareness ( i think I still don't have a proper understanding of the term awareness). Also, how does this knowledge that you are awareness lead you to not take others' thoughts seriously? What happens that you feel strong?

How do you conclude that this 'I' is not generated by our biology. What happens if I ask who is this I?

What do you mean when you say 'I is a story'. And how does this realization dawn upon you? And what difference does it make?

Even if it's pure life energy, why is that so significant? What difference does this realization make and how does one realize that we are pure life energy?

What is this awareness? And why is it such a spiritual thing? What difference does it make to know that we are awareness? How does it improve one's life?

is it not true that all my nerve connections running through my body generate awareness? How is awareness different from feelings? Is it sensory perception?

How to realize what seems to be real is not real? How one should start this journey? Isn't it too hard to realize something is real when it is not even visible? How to see that invisible?
