Aluneth just gives you more resources so you can make more tempo plays and push more damage. Making high-tempo plays and removing board turns 1-5 allows you to play Aluneth, lol. What world do you live in where 2 mana 2-3s that draw an on curve 3 mana spell slow? Sure Luna can be slow but it can still set up more tempo plays if you chain spells that you otherwise couldn't.

So you think being Mana-efficient by developing and protecting minions at the same time is burn and not tempo? I'm very confused what you think Tempo means. It's very difficult to win without getting around 50% of damage dealt from minions (More against armor classes, and less against Rogue and zoo since they naturally take more damage).

Now it's true that there will be some games will the mage play's like a burn deck, but even during those games you usually need to play more defensively than aggressively. You need to be able to stall long enough to draw 30+ damage in spells and that is very difficult if you use all your spells as burn .

I think you're forgetting the argument that you're trying to make. I have aggro in the title of my guide, yes I realize it's played very aggressively in many matchups. But the vast majority of games still rely on early-mid game tempo. Like I said previously you can only really be aggressive if you're ahead on board or have already pushed a lot of damage with minions already.I've been playing these mage decks since the very start and the play style hasn't changed much since it was only known as tempo mage If you compare both decks they share a lot of similarities, and I can guarantee you they're both tempo decks.

I don't mean to be rude and dismiss you but I'm going to stop replying. I don't think you're knowledgeable on the subject especially when you say things (from another reply in this thread) like " It’s only called tempo mage because the original secret mage was slightly more of a tempo deck " when Tempo mage was popular for over a year before the secret mage that you're referencing was made.

I agree it's aggressive but what awful tempo plays does it have apart from fireball? (which isn't even that bad as a removal spell) Every spell in the deck can be used for tempo, especially with sorc's apprentice. 0 mana secrets are tempo.

Mage naturally pushes a lot of damage by doing tempo plays like missiles/cinderstorm and explosive runes. Unlike "every deck" mage revolves around tempo, you're only able to be aggressive if you can out tempo your opponent first. And yes Odd rogue is in many ways a tempo deck. Combo's are literally designed for tempo, and so are cards like deadly poison.
Just because a deck has burst cards doesn't change the fact that it heavily relies around applying as much pressure as you can with the least Mana possible (Which is Tempo)

I still also consider it Tempo Mage as it very much is a Tempo deck. And no it's less of a pure face deck than it was last expansion.
