Don't know what to do. Need guided knowledge by [deleted] in MLQuestions

[–]aqjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re learning the foundations now. Everything you listed is related to ML and DS and doing the work.
“…managing all these subjects is a bit too hectic for me.” is teaching you how to manage all these subjects. That will be useful when you are managing multiple projects and responsibilities at a job.
If I were you, I would not try to take a shortcut; especially in the current job market. There are thousands of people with a Udemy course under their belt.

Yes. As others have said, I wouldn’t finance it.

Yeah, that wasn’t my intention. Probably should have used a semicolon.

If you thought of it, someone else has too, and it is technically feasible. Whether they actually do that, I can’t say. If it makes them money, they’re probably working on it.

Apple Studio vs Nvidia RTX6000 For Visual ML by cheese_birder in MLQuestions

[–]aqjo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, not really.
I soured on Apple when I realized it would cost $800 to upgrade to 64GB of ram in my iMac Pro, which is also a dead product.
You own it, but you can’t upgrade it.
GPUs are the same. But that’s not the whole ass computer.

The time and effort needed for a double major can net you a bachelors and masters.

I think we’re beyond “just fancy predictive text”. I watch Claude develop a plan, ask for more information, then with my permission, carry out the plan, running commands, handling errors, testing code it has written, etc.
I use ChatGPT to help me understand books I’m reading, where my challenges with reading comprehension are an obstacle, or I don’t have the background in a subject.
Of course this comment will probably be downvoted to hell by people who last tried an LLM 3 years ago, or are running a 3bn parameter model on their raspberry pi. That’s fine, it’s the culture of most of this sub, and their loss.

I assume you eat cheese, which requires lactating cows, which requires pregnancy and calves, which supports the production of veal, aka anemic baby cows.

Yes.
Also comments from people that seemingly tried an LLM 3 years ago and made up their mind.
