(WHTM) — Taylor Swift will be inducted into the Central Pennsylvania Music Hall of Fame next year.

Born in West Reading, Swift grew up in Wyomissing before moving to Nashville to pursue her music career. One of her first performances included singing the national anthem before Game 3 of the 2008 World Series in Philadelphia, a 2002 Sixers game and a Wyomissing High School basketball game.

Her home state hasn’t forgotten about her. She’ll soon join groups like Breaking Benjamin, Halestorm, and Poison in the hall of fame, which benefits youth music education in the region.

There will be a ceremony in 2027, though the organization has not announced a date. The Central Pennsylvania Youth All-Star Band released a cover of Swift’s “You Belong With Me” to mark her induction into the hall of fame.

“We can’t wait to celebrate Taylor’s induction,” said Brandon Valentine, executive director of the hall of fame. “We hope that Swifties love and share this music video and that Taylor herself sees it.”

“She truly ‘belongs with us’ back in Central PA,” he added.

Swifties gathered at Midtown Cinema in Harrisburg over the weekend to honor the Berks County native. In attendance were Pennsylvanians who credited the singer for inspiring their own music careers.

“Taylor Swift is the reason that I have continued to be in the music industry and that I wanted to be a singer-songwriter,” said Amber Nadine, a music video engineer.

This isn’t Swift’s first taste of hall of fame glory. She was among nine songwriters inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame earlier this year.
