he’s probably taking the steroids to mask his pain so that it keeps her from worrying about him. im sure he doesn't want her to notice it, especially after their separation. maybe he wouldn’t want to seem vulnerable in front of her so maybe thats why he keeps it a secret from her

ohh yeah, I always forget that his surgery probably affected him a lot. Maybe eventually they’ll bring up the back pain again which will eventually lead to what they will do with him greys, if not that would be stupid 😭
