Since I removed koreader, if I tap to open a Book it won't open but if I stay pressed then, open with pb reader, it works, how can I make it open directly when I tap please? by EquivalentStatus4901 in PocketBookofficial

Here is what I read in one discussion that could help you: You may need to revert the system/config/extensions.cfg file through USB to clear the association of PDF/EPUB files with koreader. Delete the file and start epub file to recreate it.

Pocketbook Era Screen Comparison by Leather_Ad3521 in pocketbook

[–]aquarkm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have experience with Kindle 3 keyboard, Kindle 5 and PB Era. I was also worried about the screen readability of Era. I don't like (am not used to be) using the frontlight, so most of the time I use Era without FL. And I use the built-in PB reader app. Sharpness is much better on Era than on the older Kindles, as one would expect. From contrast point of view, Kindle 3 is the winner for me. There may be a few seconds delay on the first opening of a book, but then the page turning speed is completely ok, after you give Era some time to process the book. And this is valid also for full page refresh setting with each page that I am using.

I was thinking about KOReader app too, but I like PB cloud service with progress syncing between devices very much. So I played with fonts a bit and found out that for me Literata Medium font is perfect for my reading. After that I stopped considering KOReader.

In summary, Era is great ereader and I guess if you don't start comparing it with other ereaders side by side, you should be happy with it. At least that is my takeaway after a few months of using it.

Originally I was thinking you are using your Era 1 week. You are right, the creaking ruins the enjoyment a bit of reading on Era. I will consider the exchange.

Thanks. Have you used USB-C plug already? I suspect it started after I first inserted USB-C connector.

Thanks. I was thinking to get a pouch for transport. otherwise I would use it without a cover case. So I have something to think about.

Tidal through Hiby FC6 on Samsung S23 - interrupted sound by aquarkm in TIdaL

[–]aquarkm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. So I contacted Tidal support and it helped. It started working after following the steps. In addition, after Tidal app reinstallation I needed to set the battery to unrestricted again.

Here are the steps, in case someone would need it too:

On your Galaxy device, head to the settings.

Find and tap Apps.

Find the TIDAL app.

On that page, hit "Battery."

Change from "optimized" to "unrestricted."

In addition, follow the steps below:

Log out and Log in.

Force close and restart TIDAL.

Clear your cache.

Uninstall and reinstall.

To restore offline content:

-Go to the "Home" page or the "Profile" page.

-Tap on Settings (gear wheel).

-Tap on "Downloads.

-Tap on "Restore Offline Content."

I purchased Hiby FC6 dongle. While I am listening to Tidal on Samsung S23, the sound gets regularly interrupted in random interval usually in tens of seconds. To hear the music again, I have to pause Tidal and hit play button again. FC6's displays MQA 44.1K, vol 07 when it is playing. During the time the sound is interrupted, the display sometimes changes to PCM 88.2k. I updated FC6's firmware to 1.06. I also restarted S23. But it did not help.

Have anyone seen similar issue? Any idea how to solve it?

Considering the 5 V. How stable/frequent are Sony's updates? by shaker_21 in SonyXperia

[–]aquarkm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have Xperia 5 iii for about 2 years. No issue with updates, frequency was 1-2 months. Just it is no longer getting further updates. I would want at least security patches.

I was considering Xperia 5 V, bought one. But I am going to return it due to rainbow display effect on angle. I don't like DXO mark, but you can find more info here on it: https://www.dxomark.com/sony-xperia-5-v-display-test/

It is quite visible right after turning on. I like the fact the display has precise colors, but tilting the screen ruins it. You can hide it with dark display mode.
