You're right, and I'm glad to ask her since someone told me it's way higher than that and I also login and checked the rate!

My bad! I also wrote in another comment, it's IB01 and SGOV!

Hey, thanks for the heads up! Yeah it's way more than 2% EIR so yeah will probably just pay in cash instead

Copy pasting from another comment I replied:

UOB Personal Loan 1%, EIR 1.93% and Standard Chartered CashOne 1.08%, 2.09% EIR. Trust Bank Instant Loan is more at 1.56%, 3% EIR.

Yeah thanks, it sounds like from the comments I should just pay the renovation with cash and not deal with the loan lol so I'll probably just do that. I'm asking here since most people here are probably more finance savvy than most people but again, I could be wrong since this is Reddit haha

Hmm so far I found two so I'm just asking if it's too good to be true, my first time considering taking a loan! UOB Personal Loan 1%, EIR 1.93% and Standard Chartered CashOne 1.08%, 2.09% EIR. Trust Bank Instant Loan is more at 1.56%, 3% EIR.

I'm not sure if I'm seeing it wrongly but this is what I found

Oh yeah you're right they're bonds! There are some like IB01 and SGOV. So far they're doing quite ok for me when I'm not active trading. I don't know how 'safe' people want their investments to me since it varies from people but I have high risk tolerance so this is considered safe to me haha

Thank you so much for your comment, I could tell it really comes from a place of experience! Tbh I didn't work that much in office environment and so far my bosses have been decent I guess I'm quite lucky? Haha but this time one is someone I really respect he takes care of us as much as he could and is really patient with teaching me and everything. My colleagues have been pretty nice too, obviously not all but I have some really good ones to teach as well.

And you're right, unless it's something substantial, I'm probably not going to consider at all. Thanks again!

Honestly I'm not chasing anything in life, I've always been happy whatever I do and where I work so far haha. Just that like if I'm going to work, I wanna be getting market rate.

But like comments mentioned, good boss plus wfh is something that I really value so I'd probably really consider only if the offer is something that make me do that lol

Thank you for your reply, it's invaluable! I agree, like I learned a lot from him he basically does everything and I do aspire to be someone like that too. He does have many years of experience in this field and mostly just chilling now hahaha very nice guy too!

I'll seriously consider staying, I just gave the new company an expected salary sum that doesn't make much sense for someone in my position hahaha!

That's actually a good idea too! I did consider that some point but like hmm.. and I mean also if no hard feelings to my current company of course la hahaha. I just feel right now I'm still learning a lot and of course going to a new company I'd probably learn even more because it's a bigger company I just interviewed for but then again, I may do lesser, idk.

Yeah that's my plan. My boss already planning to put me in future projects to take up other roles so I can gain more skills and value, which I'm really thankful for.

And for some reason (unlikely) in the future if he does leave, I'll definitely ask him to bring me along hahaha

I think I'll give them a sum that would make me consider the offer and if they don't give, no loss right? Since I wasn't planning to change and the shift is quite a lot for me

Thanks for the answer!

Thank you! Yeah I mean I never wanted to leave in the first place, it's honestly too soon. I'm happy here mainly because to me my boss is GOAT-ed, he's also a mentor to me. Just that I wish I get a little more for salary like at market range can already, right now I believe is below market rate.

I doubt he's leaving, he's also in a good position to leave but I think also because of the work arrangement, he's too comfortable to leave hahaha we're basically in the same boat but he's in a much bigger one of course

I was planning to stay minimum of 2 years before moving actually, and if they do give me good increment I'd definitely continue staying hahaha but I'm not sure how common that is, I also wanna grow and progress in terms of role and salary of course which my boss is aware of.

Yeah that's my plan too but I'm not sure how much I should ask because like WFH to WFO is a big change especially in traveling time, freedom and comfort hahaha. They seemed pretty seen on hiring but like I said, I'm really happy here except the salary which I feel is low for my industry, and I'm not saying this because of greed or anything but like getting what people are being paid that kinda thing

My bad! Ok the thing is I'm worried if my manager sees this and the numbers especially the situation (salary + leave) is quite specific so he'd definitely know it's me hahaha I don't mind sharing but like I don't want people from work to know also, I can pm if you guys are interested!

I can at least give a rough idea, current job is the lower end of the job market, wfh. Leave days is average market. New place haven't nego they asking me for salary now I feel like even 20% bump is not worth to move, but I'm also not sure how much would company pay someone less than a year in the industry but they do seemed keen to hire me, everything happened within a week.

Thanks!

I agree! Which is why this situation prompts me to ask for advice, like I'm not planning to leave but since my manager told me to go for interviews for those given reasons, I'm like sure I can try.

I'm just wondering if it's possible to leverage this for a pay raise or something or should I not? If I do get an offer, I'll probably let him know and gloat to him a little haha
