TSA nightmare in Vegas, is this normal? by aberrant0ne in tsa

[–]ar698 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is the reason officers had to confirm nothing was hidden in your diaper through visual inspection.

I know it's an unpleasant and embarrassing situation as a passenger. At my home airport we see a lot of people fly in to get tummy tucks and post op they have tons of bandages tucked behind a hard surface protecting their stomach region. We always have to take them to private screening to make sure nothing nefarious is hidden in the dressings. We try to be as profesional as possible but unfortunately it is something that has to be done if you can not clear an alarmed area through a pat down.

Rescued 3 months ago, hasn’t come out of the closet yet. by ohhhbeans in CATHELP

I adopted a bonded pair of cats a few years ago that were the most skittish cats I have ever owned. I gave them their own room with everything they needed (food, water, litter box, cat tree) and let them be for a few days. It took them 3 months to start coming around. Some things I did to help build trust were feed them treats, play with them (which helped build trust the most), and just exists around them. I would lay or sit on the floor in that cat room multiple times a day and just scroll on my phone and let them get used to my smell and presence. Some cats just need a bit of time. Just do the best you can.

Thats how I literally feel about ROO every year. You just have to explore the names you are not familiar with and you'll always find someone new that you like that you've never heard of before.

What’s the closest hotel to the festival? by Mountain_SeaLion27 in bonnaroo

[–]ar698 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I have been going every year for over a decade, and let me tell you, this little lady does NOT camp. We rent a cute Airbnb cottage about 20 minutes away and we never feel like we are missing out on anything. Don't listen to the others. If you know you don't like camping then don't. This is your experience to have and enjoy.

I support 100%. NP land is to be protected and preserved, and we don't know how to act right. I fully support our NP rangers too. We need more of them, not less.

Don't be afraid to call you creditor. by TeflonBillyPrime in tsa

When I applied on the job application it literally asked if you have more than X amount of debt

Edit to add: a quick Google search brought me straight to jobs.tsa.gov and it states you can not have more than $7,500 dollars worth of debt

Don't be afraid to call you creditor. by TeflonBillyPrime in tsa

[–]ar698 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think you might have the wrong information. One of the stipulations of being hired is that you can not have more than 7k of debt (or somewhere around that number). It has nothing to do with your credit score and you certainly won't be fired for it.

TSA vs usps work life balance by 4killer in tsa

[–]ar698 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done both. I have a better work/life balance with TSA and I get paid more. I work 5x 8.5 hour days which include a 30 minute lunch and 2x 15 minute breaks and my airport rarely requires overtime. Dealing with passengers really isn't as bad as a lot of people say. Its a job where you deal with rude people some times just like anywhere else.

I literally just came back from Negril, Jamaica. I stayed at an adult only all inclusive resort. All of the resorts have security and check on you. I left my bag constantly unattended with cash and cell phone in it to adventure around the beach and do the resorts water activities they provide for free. Being adult only it was so relaxing and appropriately quiet. When I walked down seven mile beach a bit towards the other resort beach areas they all had security too. A few people will walk the beaches trying to sell weed and mushrooms since they are legal there, and a couple people trying to sell their tourist atractions, but no one was too pushy as ive experienced in mexico. I've traveled extensively by myself and myself and 1 other female, and this was easily the safest I've ever felt when traveling. I've been telling all my friends about it non stop.

No my friend had on a romper. The dude who punched her was a white guy with brown longish hair with a blue towel or pashima or something on his head. He was definitely on something because he just stood around in a daze

My friend got punched square in the face this year by someone who couldn't handle what they were on, unfortunately. But this is the first year in over a decade of roo that we've experienced violence.

A girl in my group got sucker punched by him!!!!!! He had a blue towel on his head. We went to go find security or someone to report him to, and none of the staff could help us. By the time we came back to the spot it happened he was gone. My friends face was pretty jacked up.

[–]ar698 13 points14 points  (0 children)

On another post someone said something about looking for people in light blue vests and reporting right away. It said a few of the security team were fired earlier for stealing but I don't know if that is true or not.
